Shameless rip off. And it's a bad remix even. Simply place the actual melody to the back and change the accompanying instruments slightly. The original Lufia (Estpolis) version is way better. It actually sounds quite interesting if you play them simultaneously. Nice video.
Now I understand how Haken Browning felt when he saw the Kaguya clones in Endless Frontier. "Man, talk about bad taste... Or maybe, it's actually good taste?"
This! His plagiarism is apparent, but still, the way he fiddles with the tempo and pitch produces some genuinely interesting remixes. If only he'd, y'know, called them that. And not sold them to companies as original pieces.
What makes me especially happy about that, is the fact it's the Fortress of Doom team working on it. The first game despite it's technical inferiority, is still my favorite in the series.
Was it a remake or a brand new game altogether? I've heard both....
it's pretty much a new game. some people call it a reboot or a reimagining. kinda like they made batman movies a long time ago, but those are pretty different from "the dark knight" from now.
the game is now an action rpg similar to secret of mana, so no more turn based battles. instead you make combos by timing the button presses correctly and switch from character to character. the story is also heavily modified but they kept the characters mostly.
they also kept most of the music and there is still a heavy focus on puzzle solving. since it's those last two things I always loved the most I'm not complaining.
bosses in boss battles are also promised to be so big they appear on both screens at once, which is bound to be cool. all in all, I'm really looking forward to it. since square enix is overseeing the project, I'm quite confident the quality level will be acceptable :)
I just linked from RPGFan. I can't believe he copied "For the Savior". Wow Suemura really dug himself deep with this and his robbing from Chrono Trigger. I'm really startled he did this at all.
i think this whole situation can be resolved if they just release a DS cartridge with both lufia games on it... as long as they work the bugs out of part 2.
what is this "Super Robot" thing? i wish i knew Japanese! was the Estpolis II song copied by another game? that happens to be my favorite theme from Estpolis II, and one of my top favorite game themes ever.
This is a comparison of the music from Estpolis II (Chijou wo sukuu mono) and a boss theme from Super Robot Wars K, the newest in the lineup released very recently. The music first plays in stage 5 and is also used in the final battle with the Original enemies.
As you can see they're basically the same melody. SRWK "stole" from Estpolis 2. But it's not so surprising once you find out that it's the same people behind it (Studio PJ).

As blatant a copy as it is, if you close your eyes and pretend it's remix, it's a rather good one.
Wonder if the attention will actually spur whoever owns the Estpolis/Lufia IP to consider a new game. Unlikely yes, but one can always dream.

@Crayshen your statement now looks pretty prophetic hahaha :D
now I just hope they will actually translate the remake.

Lufia = Estpolis. Estpolis Denki is the original name =)
tokimeitashunkan 2 years ago
To be more precise, Estpolis Denki 2 is known in to those who played it on the SNES as Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals.

Same sound studio who composed the song on SRWK and Lufia II:

"Super Robot" is newest turn-based-strategy game of Nintendo DS released on 20/March.
This movies 1st part is bgm from that game.
And 2nd part is lufia's original bgm.
The 3rd part is mixed both bgm.
Looks like too much same!!
Where is differents?
