my music is musty and tattered by i so love th8is song

  • This was my father's "signature song" when I was a kid. He'd play it whenever he sat down to play the piano for me (1960), and I was always thrilled by it. Brings back wonderful memories. Thanks so much, Richard!

  • The only other time I heard of this song was from an old 1950's Paramount cartoon short called "Forest Fantasy". The animal band plays "Nola" followed by a sing along "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon".

  • @QBCNetwork Is the Forest Fantasy cartoon on YouTube?

  • @heine71 Not available.

  • @QBCNetwork Oh well...

  • @heine71 If I remember right, a spider that looked like Harpo Marx (playing the harp) was one of the characters in the cartoon. I could be wrong; haven't seen that cartoon in 40 years.

  • @misharyutubbee You are correct!

  • SIMPLY AMAZING!

  • Wenn ich diesen Mann mit dieser Fingerakrobatik sehe, möchte ich selbst nie mehr klimpern und würde am liebsten mein Klavier in Brand setzen !

  • Lordy, he has monstrous hands! I've never heard played on the piano. Is this the original rag? Great performance, good sound. Thanks for posting.

  • Delightful interpretation!

  • I haven't been able to find much of anything in searches of this tune. I am surprised to have found this today. I actually was looking for the George Shearing version. Anyone else familiar with that one?

  • its called 'Nola', composed by Felix Arndt a deceased relative of mine.

  • Been playing this for the past 45 years. Still enjoy messing around with the tempo ( purely for my own imagination ) and to the amusement of my piainst friends

  • I knew someone whose mother played it as a foxtrot, at breakneck speed. It's a silly tune as it is, but the way she did it, it was hilarious, even in unintentionally.

  • This brings back alot of memories.

My aunt Mary used to play this song.

It was my favorite. During the depression

in the 30's she worked for a music

    store playing songs from sheet

music. She and my dad were the

only ones in our family that had a job.
