  • Progress began! viva!

  • 5 Adults and 2 Children...5 + 2 = ... 7,....... I think my math is wrong, what car carrys 7 people

  • The Irony is that batteries run DC and Tesla was all about the AC, but anyway I WANT ONE!

  • COOL

  • Does anyone know who the song artist is? This is the second time I've heard this soundtrack - first was three years ago on the Aston Martin preview.

  • I hope my grandchildren will POWER their home with the generated electricity from the car. Until then, I'll buy gas and hopefully invest in a Tesla

  • Five Adults and two children? ... Is there seats in the trunk? lol

  • this is the future ... !!

  • Excellent car. Also, Ford didn't take any bailout money. GM has paid back their loan with interest. Let's give the car makers a break, the engineers and assembly line employees made good cars and only the people at the top screwed up. Also, Chevy is making the Volt. In my opinion, a great gateway electric car. It has good reviews and will help the public get used to charging their car.

  • question for any owners. is there a lock on the charger so no one can pull it out of the car except the owner? I ask this because what if you wanna charge it somewhere not in your home and you can't be watching it?

  • when is this coming to India... :( I want one NOW !!!

  • This is the first time I have seen the S its beatifull and practical, great job.

I love the roadster, its just a little hard to get in and out of, especially if you have bad legs, now there's own for everyone.

I like Nikola a lot, but he did not build this car and his place of birth or religion meens nothing, lets talk about the car please!

  • ahhhhh, i want one...im from Spain!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i dont care about the HOAX that is global warming. but this is a nice car and freaking awesome comercial ..

Does anyone know the music in this comercial ????? or is it an original for the trailer????

  • Awesome...if one uses a renewable energy source like wind generator, you have a true "green" vehicle. Now one for the masses please!

  • this car is not for Argentina, we have the more expensive electricity in the world.

thank you Cristina kirchner Mother fucker

  • I love it . I will buy it . Hope after 3 year . it will cheap . everybody shouls buy it ... Wonderful Earth by electric cars

  • now all we need is to make our electric supply solar this car is amazing

  • Exactly!

Once we isolate the emissions to the power plants, the problem will be much more easily fixed!

  • Thank you people dont understand that its a lot easier then they are making it. They could also put Nanosolar Solar Cells on the Tesla seeing as its just a film.

  • All of this, our modern lifestyle,

    is thanks to one persone.

A Serbian man called Nikola Tesla.

  • He was a Serbian, dude. Get your shit straight.

  • he was both serbian and croat. i know, i'm from croatia. his home is in croatia, although he always said he was both. serbian and croat.

  • @RoTesla2009 Romania has nothing to do with this, it doesn't matter where Nikola Tesla is from or where he lived, what matters is that he is the individual who invented much of modern day technology.

  • He had his roots in Africa

  • These Guys are awesome I Hope to build an electric car like these guys someday. Green, its the way to go.

  • i want one

but i living in tijuana mexico

  • These guys are a small company (no mass production, hand made) working with expensive cutting edge technology, it makes sense why it costs what it does, the point of this company is to remove the stigma of electric = slow cars, i can't afford one but i certainly applaud what they are doing, imo one of the big 3 should partner with them to use their technology in a mass production car

  • This is the car the BIG 3 FAILED to Deliver.

  • Actually, if you read anything on the site or thought about it a little bit you would realize just how expensive it is to simply produce such a vehicle. Look at the cost of other electric cars that can do the same, how are they priced? It's not that they're thinking only of the money, they're simply trying to make a slight profit producing something that has VERY expensive parts. On the flip side, the more of these they make the cheaper they'll become since the parts will be cheaper to make.

  • All us Californians are rooting for you, Tesla Motors!! Go Tesla!! It WILL BE my future car!

  • Great music. Great video. Great car.

  • Go Whitestar!

  • Very cool. Now see the SuperBird on my videos.

  • Adios, GM, Chrysler, Ford, and all the rest who do not jump onto THIS bandwagon...and good riddance.

  • zero emissions ? lol just google dead zone around battery plant,or 500 mile death zone google (prias vrs hummer) and see what comes up,lol.......

  • hmmmm, if you have a point that's valid cool, but using 'lol' too many times makes me suspicious.

  • im laughing out loud because its hilarious to see all the stupidity !

like i said look it up,and it is valid,,,, ~~~~evil lol~~~~ that was for al gore...

  • @digzie1 No the stupidity is with insipid imbeciles like you who love to bash for your own petty reasons using lies and misinformation.

  • @Son37Lumiere little troll lol listen to yourself what i said is still fact..

  • @digzie1 Troll? LOL. Go do some real research, the hummer is much worse a polluter than the Prius, the "article" claiming otherwise omits tons of information that makes the hummer look good. For instance, Toyota's order of 1000 tons of nickel from a polluting factory sounds bad while the truth is those 1000 tons account for 1% of the nickel the factory makes and the hummer uses lots of nickel in its various parts. That's one of many lies.

    Fuck off halfwit.

  • shit...i didnt even write that...someone was using my account...fuck that

  • Lithium batteries are classified by the US government as NON-toxic. I don't know what point your trying to make.

  • Yes zero emissions the car as no escape system.

If your talking about the making of the batteries them you need to include every electronic device that uses batteries, including petrol cars that also use them.

  • @digzie1 Tesla use Lithium Ion batteries. So no, there's no dead zone. Lithium is almost totally recycled and not toxic. Not to mention every single time I read about the 'dead zones' the miles go up and up and up ;) First 1 mile, now you've got the record at 500 miles. Do you honestly think ANY country (yes, even China) would allow 500 mile dead zones? Any dead zone you've read about is WAY smaller and from many many decades ago.

  • Please, please and please sell this car. It will change the industry as we know it. Get this thing manufactured as soon as humanly possible.

  • Aren't they already selling this? Not manufactured yet?

  • No, the sedan shown here are prototypes. What they are selling is the today is the roadster. But they need to mass manufacture the Sedan to reduce the cost.

I believe they are coming out in 2010.

  • They just got a loan of almost $500 million from the government, it looks like mass-production is go!

  • They should have gotten the 5 billion that was given to Ford. Then they could have invested a large sum of money into R&D to perfect the battery technology.

  • ...so very VERY true!!!

  • it's not about the money it about our environment.. without a planet to live on none of it matters. Once it becomes main stream the costs will drop.

  • how would buying a $101,00 TWO SEATER pay off from not using gas?????

    please someone explain!!

i rather buy a CTS that's more powerful and CHEAPER.

  • That is a good question. But that is the introduction car. This company had to start at the top.

Now they are bringing in the Model S. I hope they use the Better Place business model to deal with the battery. That should bring the price down.

When they bring in their third car, it will be more cost effective to the regular consumer. If you know anything about economics or business, new technology is pricey in the beginning.

  • No oil changes too. Depending on where you live, you can shave the price a little bit by taking advantage of tax credits and incentives. The Fed gives $7,500 credit for buying a Tesla, some states waive sales tax for electric cars. Here in California I think you get $5,000 tax credit, so that's $12,000 off right there. Also in Los Angeles electric vehicles get free meter parking and can use carpool lanes solo. In LA that is a BIG deal. Compared to other high-end sports cars, it's a good deal.

  • what about Texas?

  • Texas would still get the $7,500 credit because that is federal, but they may not have extra tax incentives. You can look for a Texas electric car club online that would know all of the incentives. I was just at an Earth Day event where they had the Tesla Roadster and a Toyota Rav4 EV for show. I watched a presentation about electric cars so I have them on the brain. I'm with you in that I can't spend that kind of money for a Tesla, but I want my next car to be electric. The tech is ready now.

  • it's is a fast fun car that doesn't need gas

Honestly the reason to get one is the preformance, the off the line speed will trash any gas car, electric cars are much more powerful are fast then gas cars. "Plug'n Hybrids" are the best option right now, I believe the volt is the only production one, but you can modify a Prious to be one, so there are "cheap" options, but I like a fast car, so I am going to get one of these

  • i think the people who need the hybrid/electric cars are those who need to use their car on a daily basis, not just for the elite and sports guys. right now, people can do better with other hybrid cars. it doesn't payoff buying a Telsa. maybe in a decade or by 2016. pointless now.

  • This car as a 250km+ range with a single charge at normal driving, do you drive that on a daily basis?

  • 300 MILES range, thats about 480 km

  • os carros eletricos sao o futuro estes, são simplesmente incriveis.

estes definem carros, pura e simplesmente magngnificos

  • Please can anyone explain why Daimler want to take a stake in Tesla Motors? Is it because he want to destroy Tesla-Motors because Tesla dont use gasoline or is it something else.

PS.I would like to buy some shares of Tesla - Motors because this is the future!

  • Nice. But considering how the standard cars are badly damaged during an accident, with carbon fibers and aluminium I seriously doubt that if anything bad happen there will be anything else left but crushed meat, despite the airbags present (see webpage of Teslamotors, specs of the vehicule). I might be wrong.

  • The Tesla Roadster is "the only highway certified electric car on sale". What that means is that it passed the very strict federal safety tests, and is no more dangerous to drive than any other car (and safer than many) - of course, if you have a lead foot the Tesla won't protect you any more than a Volkswagen would.

  • ya they should give this company 6 billion instead of GM and see how well they can do. GM should die. Giv the money to someone who is building today's cars now.

  • For years US oil compagnies tried to delay the electric cars, we all can understand why.

I am in brushless and Li-po technology, I can tell you, this is a REVOLUTION !

In less that 10 years, you will be able to buy a "basic" electric car for only $8000.

with no more gas to buy, no maintenance (almost), and extremely reliables cars.

Even small airplanes (like a Cessna 150) will become electric.

  • If they use the Better Place business model, these cars will be cheaper and better. I am a little skeptical about the 8k price tag though.

  • I agree to a point. The government should not be giving money to ANYBODY. Let the market decide who is too big to fail.(

Hint: if you don't make cars people want at a price they are willing to pay, you will go out of business.)

Tesla is creating vehicles for what is currently a niche market in order to fund R&D for less pricey vehicles for the masses. They should stand or fall on their OWN merit, not based on what people (read: bureaucrats) in government like or dislike.

  • i would agree with this if all other nations played by these same rules.

  • next step, free energy

  • question where do i buy stock in this company..... The cars they make, make me wonder why we are supporting gm

  • My thougts exactly when I watched this. There not public yet I don't think. I understand, it's a group of investors. The primary one being, the Founder/Creator of Paypal. Some 195 million dollars spent to get this far, and 70 some odd million, invested by the pay pal guy.

( Sorry I can't rember his name, and I am too lazy to look it up at this very second. I'm sure someone will tell.)

  • How much does cost tesla s,

    and tesla roadster?

  • Very nice cars, but i thought the model "S" would be more affordable, which it isn't.

  • For 49,000 you cant argue especially since the battery is not cheap...

  • it is more affordable. It's less then half of what the Roadster costs. Plus you don't have the gas and maintenance costs a normal gas car has. And in the future there will probably be an even more affordable model.

  • Can anyone name the song title and artist used in the ad?

  • HELPING THE HOMELESS and im promothing human kindness as i walk across AMERICA for every life lost in 911 2001 and our soldiers lost, lets change some ones life im calling all millionaires/billionaires/all celebs/HUMAN BEINGS to walk a mile with me and in that mile help some one so for every life lost is a life gained ARMAND YOUNG(BAMBOOTHEWALK)UTUBE OR MAN WALKS AGROSS AMERICA GOD BLESS R TROOPS IM CALLING ALL ANGELS

  • Where would the 2 kids sit with 5 adults on board? In the trunk? Are there seats back there? How small would the kids have to be? Would love to see a video posted that showed a full ride of 7 people! This new car looks great though - almost like an Aston Martin...?

  • lol that's exactly what I was thinking!

  • yes, there are two rearward-facing seats in the back. Just like in the station wagons of the 80's.

Of course it means the trunk space is unusable there, but there's also space under the front hood for storage (no engine!).

  • WOW. Truly amazing video. Nice work!

  • Cant wait to get one of these

  • Nice video.

  • excellent video.

    =)

  • "Seats 5 Adults AND 2 Children". Seven people in that little sedan?

  • You don't need a Suburban to carry your whole family :)

  • First!
