as for this genre being a glorified trend, it may well be, who knows, then again metal as a whole was considered dead not all that long ago and at the time people thought metal would never die. they thought the same of the muscle cars they drove to their concerts and their long flowing hair. wasn't that all just a fad that passed after highschool? no, the trend just died out for a bit to another and then picked back up again, its the way of the world.

just because you don't like the sound of a certain band or song doesn't mean that song or band is any less influential to the next person. i understand that people have opinions and the right to an opinion but generally if i don't like a band i realize that other do and that in some instance that particular song i hate may have gotten someone through a hard time so generally i just keep the bad posts to myself and stay away from bands i don't like.
