Wow, this is just the kind of studio I would love to have someday. It does look very practical and COMFORTABLE, and I think it's pretty in its own way. *s* I DREAM about having a space like this. Wonderful! So happy for you.
Thanks! It was a 3 1/2 car garage that I converted to a studio. And if that wasn't big enough, a friend helped me add a 'closet' for storage. The hardest part is not 'junking' it up. Sometimes it seems I spend more time organized than creating! But I'm not complaining....
very awesome studio, you guys did a great job. you know how most men go bonkers over a nice hotrod? their eyes glaze over and they are dead conversationally for about an hour after they touch one? thats how i am with sewing rooms/studios and yours is very very nice. way to go.
By far, this is one of the best home studios I have seen yet! I love the color and all of the work stations. I especially admire your fabric collection!
Ok, i LOVEEE this!! Your room is Huuggeee! Im stuck with my bedroom also being m craft room since our house is so small....and you look very organized :) LOVE this :)))
do have foam stamps if you don't use them tell me because i teaching a class at home with special needs after school which some go to and some don't .
they love foam stamps . so if you have any that you don't use
What a great room! And you have so many supplies!! Nice that your dad helped with the shelving and organizing. Love all the space and table room. This looks awesome!!
I also believe practical is more important because not everyone has the money to buy everything new taking alot of garage sale furniture or just family hand me downs and using them it would even look nice and clean to paint all of the pieces white to blend
Your studio and home is beautiful! That was your studio and then theliving room area of your home? So warm and cozy, and I love the partition! (I can't spell that word) Thanks for sharing. Velma
It's beautiful!!! I'm so jealous haha. I think it is important to have a clean well organized sewing space to keep a calm environment. You have done a great job!
Such a beautiful sewing room. It is pretty aside from being practical. You seem so organized. I like that you have incorporated all sorts of furniture to serve as storage. You have nice biiiig room! Thanks for sharing!
What a fabulous work space!!! I am green with envy - don't have a craft room at all, but have to hide my stash all over the house. You've even got your own loo - fantastic! If it were mine, you'd never see me again.x
I'm so jealous of the space you have! Wow! I used to have a small craft room, until my second child was born and it became her bedroom. Now, I have a small area of the kitchen. You have utilized the space so well!
Thanks, Phleurdillee1, for the comments! My studio is a bit of a mess right now so you've inspired me to organize some before starting my next project... I wish I had your son for his expertise; that knowledge is a real plus... Mouser, my kitty, is right by my side as I type & appreciates the compliment!
OMG! that's SOOO Inspiring! i'm working in a coverted porch room right now. You really make me want to clean out my garage and go for it! Thanks for the veiw! Can't wait to show my husband. My son is an electrician. That should help! Happy crafting! i really envy you and appreciate you sharing! It makes me want to dream bigger and opens me up to the possibilities! Beautiful home, btw. And pretty kitty!
Wow I Love this! I love that it's more practical than pretty. This is were it happens it looks like. Not a "show of room" A real creative room with lots of personalaty!!
Thank You for sharing. Now I'm gonna go and continu on my scraproom... thank u for the inspiration 2 ;-)
What a great project room! This is right up my alley. All those fabrics swatched in plain sight is enough to inspire anyone! And... those center islands are DYNAMITE!
Thanks for the nice comments! My dad & I bough old dressers & put them back to back then put a 1" piece of wood as a top so the cost was minimal. As for the fabric - it really helps cut down on buying duplicates since you can see everything! I still struggle w/ organization but that will always be my downfall!
Please, please hire an electrican. it is so dangerous haveing cords hanging from the ceiling. You can easily have an electrical fire and since it is the basement, you will be trapped.
I consulted several electricians & contractors before we did anything. My electrician built a system w/ extra wall & ceiling outlets to handle akiln, new AC/heat, machines, etc. Since we were converting the garage into a studio there were many issues to address. The only problems I've had have been related to plumbing & construction done by friends rather than professionals! I saw the ceiling drops in other studios & thought it was a great idea but I could see how it could be a problem.
Thanks for the comments; I've worked hard to get it to this point but have so much more to do! And it isn't always this clean. I'm great at hiding stuff in the 10' x 20' closet that I had added on. Notice I didn't have my father film that! And I just realized that he didn't edit out the audio so just ignore our conversation...!
how do you keep the work space sooooo neat, I am unable to do that. I clean, start a project, I make mess, I clean again, finish project, make a mess...
My sewing room is in my bedroom. And even now I'm running out of room.
