The problem is these concerts they played for their fans were in the end the demise of nirvana especially Kurt Cobain. This music had so much meaning about how terrible the world is and not only did people misinterpret the meaning i've heard the one thing that made Kurt the most angry was the fact people would sing the lyrics along with him and enjoy it not knowing the meaning. This music was meant to be listened to and open your eyes not neccessarily for you to enjoy it.

if someone brought back grunge it would end up being very corny and a bit of a novelty. grunge had its place and it did good, it sounded it great, and is doing just fine being left in the early nineties where it belongs. any attempt made by a modern band not associated with the original movement would just sound corny, passe, and overly influenced by past efforts. it would pail in comparison to the originators of the genre. I turn 30 later this year. I remember watching the world premiere of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and just being absolutely blown away. It was one of those rare, happens-every-30-years moments when the entire music world suddenly shifted because of one event. 3 weeks later, everyone was wearing flannel and into the grunge scene. It was amazing to be around for that era.
