  • my heart goes out to this family. Free healthcare at point of delivery has to be accepted as normal in the richest nation in the world. Surely!

  • My mom works here!

  • FUCK CIGNA!!!

  • @TrailerNo9

So answer me this? Why can't republicans see anything wrong with this?

  • We cannot have let her die in vein, do not forget this girl. She is a martyr, a symbol of the war we are in against big money and a Republican party hell bent on doing everything possible, including fear mongering, lying, etc. to make sure we lose this fight. DO NOT FORGET THIS GIRL.

  • CIGNA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HER DEATH,THE DOCTORS DID IT THE HOSPITALS DID IT;THEY WANT assurance from the insurance co that they will get the money FOR THE OPERATION

now they blame the insurance co instead of sue the insurance co u should sue the doctors and hospital no the insurance carrier; is so clearly that the insurance has nothing to do regarding to THE health of the patients their only pay or no pay for it.the ones that hold the health AND SAFETY of that child was the HOs AND DOCs

  • i work for cigna in new zealand and just wondering if it's the same corp? coz this is quite bad news about cigna..

  • I'm not defending CIGNA here, but why didn't the doctors just perform the operation? Why did they have to first wait for confirmation that they would get paid?

  • There are politics behind that. If they did the hospital would have fired them and possibly sue them to cover the cost.

  • We need more Insurance company whistleblowers. People that are on the inside and will go to a great extent to disclose fraud. i.e. recording phone calls and conversations and copying documents. The courts have to somehow minimize or overlook any legalities when whistleblowers 'technically' break the law re: privacy etc. in this area.

The country needs a well funded insurance watchdog. Treat fraudulent insurance companies like pedophiles. It's criminal fraud on a huge scale.

  • Johnny,

Your ideas ROCK. These health insurance and Big Pharma need to be strictly regulated. Their ethics - non-existent. Whistleblower is exactly right.

    Thank you. J

  • WHAT chance family has against HUGE COORPORATION ,.... .... BIN LADEN should solve CIGNA problem ... CUT them ALL in HALF ...

  • --- johnlouisville ----- THANK YOU ... PEOPLE in USA have been bombarded by MEDIA EVERY DAY ... johnlouisville -- YOU ASSHOLE think in GERMANY or FRANCE or SWEDEN will be put to WAIT .... FUCK YOU ...

  • AND than when OKLAHOMA city happens ... WHY ?????? /// THIS is WHY ????? GOD BLESS ****TIMOTHY MCVEIGH**** GOD BLESS TIMOTHY MCVEIGH ...

  • Not true....but here in the USA...your reasoning would be repeated 24/7 in the corporate media until it would be accepted as the truth

  • The CEO and MD at Cigna deserved to be burned at the stake.

We're some audacious mf'ers to call ourselves the greatest country in the world when corporate profits are put ahead of lives.

  • F*ckin Demons. Greatest Country in the world my ass. If I could convince my family and friends, I would leave this sh*t whole of a country in a second.

  • I used to process claims for CIGNA, thank God I am done with that shitty job.

  • Tell what you KNOW. WE need insiders.

  • something should be done about health care system in the US. Apparently it is not working. It is too sad to hear this tragic story, which is not the first one. They should be convicted of murder, because that's exactly what the insurance company commited, nothing less. Set those money driven CEO's to jail.

  • Still got CIGMA? GET THE HELL OUT! All co's are about to learn a lesson. Big picture--Not everything is decided in the marketplace. Healthcare deserves public support, nationalized or national STANDARDS with teeth. Greedy doctors unnecessary operations, versus greedy insurance co's, DON'T WORK--deserving "guilty of manslaughter" criminally, and about 1/2B in civil damages, when patients die. PERIOD.

  • I wish the Sarkisyans and Mark Geragos a double digit BILLION dollar judgement. That's the only way they'll be stopped ....kick them in the pockets ---HARD

  • If that was my child I'd beg, borrow and sell everything to save her, and THEN sue the insurance company. And if Geragos really thought there was a "wrong to right" then why didn't he pay for her operation, and sue for the family. If he had an easy case, then he could collect his 40% contingency fee, less all his costs, including the orginal cost of the surgery.

  • Please think before you write. You know nothing of their financial situation, and apparently neither are you aware of the amazing costs of such an operation. This is a terrible tragedy and its always a shame when ignorant sheep such as yourself try to spin the blame on to the victims. Now go back to watching Judge Judy.

  • Go for the throat Geragos make them an example

  • RIGHT ON!

  • Please everyone who reads this...post a comment to give the family strength and also if you can...send a few dollars to their cause. They have to fight this. How could this happen. ANd people are worried about such stupid things. This is the cause of '08. Nataline should be the face of the 08 election. Let them deal with what happened. Let the debates take on this one.

  • This is exactly what Mike Moores movie "Sicko" talks about.

Americans need to stand up and fight to change the Health system, we need to go out into the streets and protest like they do in countries like France and the U.K.

This shit needs to change in America!!

  • Rst in Peace Nataline.

  • Americans have got to be the dumbest people in the west. Day after day, your politicians talk all sorts of bullshit about reform, all the while being paid off by companies like this one, and the people just stand there, like a deer caught in the headlights of a car. You people pay 4 times as much as France per person, and you rank dead last in quality in the west, even Cuba has better care.

  • That's because the filthy rich run America and the little guy can't do anything about it except to vote for the politician who has the biggest line of bullshit and hope for change, but it never will.

The only way it will change in America is if millions of people go out in to the streets and start a revolution!!!!!

If you're not willing to stand up, nothing will ever change...nothing!

  • Something needs to be done to reform the whole crappy health care system in this country. This is indeed a very sad story. I'm very very sorry for this loss.

  • A very sad story.

Isn't this the point where a right winger comes along and makes a statement about how the U.S. has the best health care in the world?

  • Insurance is fraud, period. A flimsy attempt to play God, "just in case". Gives people a false sense of security and in fact increases the chances of an "accident"...rates then go up. Fuck insurance companies.
