Great job! Also, I luv the visuals...very tasteful . May I inquire where you found the photos used? Also, I am a vocalist in the L.A. area and I will be performing this tune soon. I do it like Bonnie Raitt and have her recordings but I have been looking for an instrumental in that style hopefully, or a karaoke version if you know where I could find one. Thanx and keep up the good work!
@LILRHONDALEE I searched just now for an instrumental version with no luck. Was even going to offer to let you use my tracks but they were all on my old dead computer. Darn. The photos were gathered up all over the internet. Primarily google images and Flickriver. Thanks for the kind words. Wish I could have helped.
I didn't think anyone could top Iain Matthews or Leo Kottke's versions of 'Louise', but you, Sir, have done it! Wonderful version! Love the full 12-string sound (Taylor?).
@JohnVasco That's exceedingly kind of you. Thanks! Would you know of a link to the Iain Matthews version by any chance. Never heard that one. The 12-string was actually just my Ovation 6-string layered a few times.
@doctorcastille The multi-layering of your 6-string conveyed a strong 12-string sound to me. My bad!
I haven't found the the Iain Matthews track on Youtube, but I have it on a CD of his titled 'The soul of many places, The Elektra Years 1972-1974'. I believe it was originally on the Plainsong album 'In search of Amelia Earhart' - Matthews being one of the four members of the band.
@JohnVasco Finally tried Spotify...success!! Great version. Quite uptempo for such a sad song. Great harmonies. I'm going to have to listen to more Plainsong - was unaware till your comment, so thanks!
Beautiful song. I first heard "Louise" on an 8 track cassette by Linda Ronstadt. It included several songs no longer available by her, including a couple of Hank Williams songs. I wore it out driving up and down the TCH. When KTel went broke up here 25 years ago, they hauled all their records out to landfill, and run them over with a bulldozer. That marked the end to a lot of great music. Too bad!
@XSmileydog yeah dude, I hear that. I had it on album, I think it was a double album. and yeah, I played the shit out of it. "be my baby tonight" "ramblin' round" it had all that and more. Damn, if i could get my hands on it again. and I'm a freakin' hip hop head. Word!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR TRYING AND YOUR QUICK REPLY!
