This is Ribbon guppys..

The males can not mate because theire gonopodium fin are too long.

Its a mutations that have been kept by breeders for the look of it.

I have some guppies in my fish tank and they reproduce all the time, and one of the babies, now that its grown, it has a tail and dorsal fin like your guppies with odd strip like fins, but no strip like fins under it. How did you git yours to grow them?

It's a recessive trai called ribbon tail...You can get it by breeding a ribbon tail female with a delta male who carries (but doesn't express) the gene. Then most of the babies will be ribbon tail, though some will not. Ribbon tail males can't actually reproduce because the gonopodium (anal fin) is so long.

jordan8medeiros, thats a sign of sickness caused by fungus. Treat them with anti fungus medicine which you can purchase at ur local pet dealer. and just ta let u know, baby guppies are very prone to it. and hehe lol i think u can only really get them on an online show guppy wesite. itll b nearly impossible to get one at somewhere like petsmart lol.

Hey commedore64, just wondering what you mean by the foil look? I would like to be able to know if my guppies are getting inbred as well. I try to trade the pet store guppies every couple months to get some fresh blood in there but it would be nice to know what visual indications I might find :)
