@C32347K17732 Unfortunately you are wrong. The lyrics are from Walter Scott translated into german by Adam Storck. Just search for the Bach version - you will realize that lyrics and melody are different. . Ignorant and/or uneducated people that were hearing that repeating "Ave Maria" were thinking and spreading that this song is called Ave Maria. Schubert himself NEVER called it Ave Maria. And yes I just said that whoever led the Zurich Sängerknaben that time is a uneducated/ignorant fool.

This song got nothing to do with Bach/Gounod! It is written by Franz Schubert with lyrics from Walter Scotts. The version with latin lyrics is a prayer older than bach and was written after Schubert died.

bei hitman is es lediglich nur eins der unzähligen coverversionen und auch bloss teil des ost.

Das oft fälschlicherweise als Schuberts Ave Maria bezeichnete Stück basiert auf Walter Scotts Gedicht Lady of the Lake. Die deutsche Übersetzung fertigte Adam Storck an. Die Ave Maria lautenden Eröffnungsworte und der Refrain führten zu einer häufigen Verwechslung mit dem christlichen Ave Maria. Die Verwechslung ging soweit, dass die lateinische Übersetzung Ave Maria inzwischen zu der Melodie von Schuberts Werk gesungen wird.
