Love this, not for the quality of the video, or even the quality of the sound, but because of the outstanding musicianship of these three wonderful wonders.
John brought Scott Gates and Chelsea Williams up on stage with him. They are fantastic talents too. Nathan and Chelsea have CDs. Scott is performing with Nathan now.
Great show, we were there, Coffee Gallery Altadena Ca. Check it out. Great little spot and you can actually meet the performers. John and son Nathan are so talented. Saw Nitty Gritty Dirt Band last night in Houston at Dosey Doe. They are still fantastic. Did Mr. Bojangles. Nathan will be at Saxon Pub Austin October 8. At this Coffee Gallery show
Viewer uzi4u182 took such offense to my observation that a number of the performers appear to have unusually long noses that he tracked me down to my e-mail address in order to object. Am I to expect to find hostileman "uzi" to show up at my front door ready to blow me away because I had the temerity to excercise my 1st Amend. right of self-expression? Am surprised that YouTube allowed this. Wait 'til I start on women with big, ugly ears who tuck their hair behind them.
More poor sound. Is it my imagination, or do a lot of these male singers have long noses? The kid on the rightcould be an illegitimate son of "Old Ski-nose" hmself, Bob Hope. On one of the other of these videos, both singers have "beaks." David Gates of "Bread" belongs to the "schnozz" fraternity. At least his videos have good sound. Royalty problems here?
YouTube recently stretched the videos horizontally, distorting the picture. If there's a way to adjust the settings, I don't know it yet. In actuality none of the performers have particularly notable schnozzes. As for the sound, I've heard a whole lot worse on here! And this is an amateur video with no royalty issues.
What the heck are you talking about? Are you watching the video to judge the way they look? Watch it to listen to it and watch some great performers. If anyone has any sort of problems it is you.
William E. McEuen was the magical name on my Steve Martin LPs that I would stare at while I listened to the greatest american comic ... love the history lesson they give during this song
You still got it John. My Dad loved this song and we still perform it in our show. Glad that your son is playing with you as well as Scott. The old days may be gone but the memories still linger on.
