  • this is from a tutorial, actually, a nice one. The site this is on is called XNAdevelopment (.com)

  • Why does the wizard have no monocle? its not a wizard without a monocle

  • I can't believe that there are so many envious teenage boys watching this video. If you are as good as you claim to be, put video responses to your imposing video games written in C, assembly, hex, or straight binary.

  • ... wow i have 3 months of programming experience, and 11 and this is easy for me ....

either youre same as me or not too bright either way... good job, i guess

  • @a1missle Pics or it didn't happen.

  • call this XNA game not a C# game by saying C# u expect something from GUI in C#

  • c# is for beginners! haha C is the hardest one cause it's so close to real computer language

  • @snap0pans C# is the successor to c or c++, the only reason c is faster with games is becuase of its lack of checking and level of coding is normaly lower then the extremly well written c# which is easier to understand and easier to use and better in every way possible expect performance if ur making a game else if ur not making a game then there is no reason you would consider using c instead of c# these days

  • @MRPGAMEDEVELOPERS and anyway these days u prob would be using java becuase its multiplatform capability's were c and c# only run on windows which is very bad for anyone lol

  • @MRPGAMEDEVELOPERS and your point is?

  • @snap0pans my point is your 100% wrong, in no way is c# for beginners in fact c and c++ is for beginners, you dont start using a language that makes your life easy most courses in programming always start you with c++ then you start c then lastly you use c#, and even then there is no real beginner language you cant really compare the languages its like saying my dad is stronger then your dad.

  • @MRPGAMEDEVELOPERS dude, are u high or something? c is the first working language, then c++ was made in a easier way cause c was hard as shit! but c++ was to COMPLICATED! so they made visual basic but visual basic was worthless piece of shit so they a new awesome shit for begginers that actually worked well and that is visual basic C#.

  • @MRPGAMEDEVELOPERS That's quite possibly one of the dumbest things I've ever read... C# is definitely an excellent language for beginners to learn. Starting with C# is a great way to get introduced to game programming because you get results fast and you can focus on the fundamentals. You don't need to know the inner workings everything when you start.

  • @9700ghost what are you following me xD and no need to call people names, And no as a programmer with a degree teachers in most instutues will start on c thats how i was taught and thats how everyone i know was taught, if you dont have the ability to handle c and overcome c then you have no chance in programming simply put if you cant understand 1 language you cant understand any other languages. considering they are all the same in majority aspects just some are more user friendly nothing more

  • @MRPGAMEDEVELOPERS I went to college for programming. Want to know what I learned? Visual Basic first. Useless language, but that was my programming fundamentals class. The next language we learned the year after was C#. From there we went on to bigger and better things. You're no better than a troll with the baseless comments you make. You really have no idea what you're talking about. C# is a higher level programming language than C. The compiler does more work for you and you get less errors.

  • @9700ghost Bottom line of this debate is , are you going to learn more with the compiler fixing your code up for you? or by hours of learning syntax and making sure you don't forget a simple semi-colon.

  • @MRPGAMEDEVELOPERS The performance differences between C# and C is negligible. You would have the be one hell of a programmer to make anything in C as fast as C#, usually the compiler will do better than a human programmer. Unless of course you've got years of experience and some serious skill. But even then, the production speed you gain and the safety C# offers is a huge bonus. Face it, no indie developer is making the next BF3 or MW3, the speed difference between languages doesn't matter.

  • lol i can make this video game in java within 3 minutes

  • creative idea the hat trick, good job

  • c# complicated ? Im sorry sir do you even know whats ASM ? :D

  • Im glad your learning, But, You should atleast put a link to the tutorial for this.

  • I'd love the source code please, thanks! Mediafire link please. You will be alot more wanted on youtube.

  • Haha C# hard? Try haskell, assembly or if your really in to hard programming languages seek out Whitespace.

  • lol this is c#

  • @Jonhyfun Whats wrong with C#?

  • this not c# its a program

  • C#?! what the hell in c# i just can make a BLOCK OF COLORS

  • To me, visual c# is actually pretty simple compared to writing c++ code on notepad. Like in the olden days LOL

  • "it`s the most complicated programming language" LOL

  • XDDD

    Try C++

  • Waw! "C# is the most complicated language to learn" is a statement that you can make when you've tried to learn most of the existing languages, which is obviously not the case here...

  • HEhe awesome :D

  • Pascal is easy bro, I've been using it in school for the past year but im not using it to create games :)

  • try Game Maker, it is very easy to learn

  • @loren4231 Game maker is for n00bs who cant code shit

  • @gruntlover2 in game maker you can make game in 90 minutes in C# - THE SAME GAME ONE WEEK

  • @loren4231 but c# is a million times more useful... a much better life skill.

  • @loren4231 Also, game maker is extremely limited... :) Just sayin'

  • @FunFasit but game maker is better for this type of game

  • @loren4231 Not if you want to develop them further, GM is okay if you want to make something really simple :)

  • @FunFasit but this is really simple

  • Fk what others say im doing web design and animation and im alright at animatiopn but to do that it kinda hard lol.

    Good job m8

    subed ^^ !!!!

  • I encourage everyone here who posts somewhat amateur comments to buy a few programming books and start reading them. Try something like "Big Java" by Cay Horstmann. It's quite a good book for beginners and takes you right through to the advanced stuff.

  • A few things:

    1) BAD GUYS!!!!

    2) 2 did you write an engine yourself, or do you use xna/something else?

    3) C# is definately not the hardest language to learn. C++ is way harder, as it uses more direct access to hardware, without as good support for the .NET framework. Not to mention old programming languages like (as you mentioned) PASCAL, BASIC, FORTRAN ad asasembly language. In genneral, programming languages just get easyer over time.

  • @SBareSSomErMig He took the source code of a tutorial.

  • @trappingnoobs lol, what a lame way to make people think he has just a tiny bit of skill... :P

  • @SBareSSomErMig he uses the XNA game engine, its free for anyone to download along with visual studio express. As for languages, I settled on C# but did a bit of C++ and it is a pain in the ass

  • did you make this? if u did. nice job :) and btw wats the song?? its sick :P

  • @ProdigyAlphaA1 No, he didn't. He just is taking credit for somone else's code off a tutorial.

  • what engine?

  • dude, i have a little problem, i know how to program with command prompt. but i don't know much of any languages. i know a BIT. i really mean little. im 13 and i need your advice what language i should start learning. my big brother is training to come a programmer. he said i could try learn some java. but i think thats too hard .P whats your oppinion?

  • @vilperi27 hey m8 im talking of experience im 14 started programming already when i was 9 so my advice is if you actually want to program something you could start with visual basic if you really have no programming experience game maker could be good because you can learn the basics of variabels and things and there you can make pritty much evrything there are almost no limit the good about gamemaker is that you can actually use code, try start up with that and then you can go to c++ or c# later

  • @vilperi27 just google game maker, think the site is yoyogames or something but you should be prepared that it is a huge step when you go from game maker to any other programming language so maibe it is smartest just to start up vith vb (visual basic)

  • @hkercool yea, i know game maker... im searching some more difficult and fun :P i downloaded visual basic. i just had it installed. now im gonna try to make something fun with it :P

  • @vilperi27 Try hacking a flash game thats fun and an easy way to get started :D, just search youtube there are tons of tutorials XD

  • Wow, dude, seriously. What do you freaking expect, people are going to flame you if you act like a retard and use 100% free recourses and say you made it.

  • lmao, this video is sort of retarded.

I made the exact same game on my first day of learning Xna.

It's completely taken from a tutorial, and this guy doesn't seem to have added anything to it himself (might be wrong).

Also, that C# is the most complicated language to learn is totally wrong, from all the languages I know, C# would is most definitly the easiest.

And Xna is very easy to use as well, something like this is pretty simple with it. (That's a good thing, Xna FTW :) )

  • lol fuck you c++ is much harder what an idiot

btw nice (no point ) game =.=

  • C++ with Direct3DX is really not that much more difficult than C# with XNA or SlimDX. Essentially, you're still doing the same things, except XNA allows you to bypass most of the crap that ends up being mostly the same from project to project anyway. I think some people have mistaken complexity for confusing naming schemes and more necessary code to do the same thing.

  • Oo, FUCKIN AWESOME GAME. I WILL BUY IT!

  • i apologize for all the retards who has no idea of the complexity of C# (Csharp) VERY nice game indeed, keep it up!

  • this cool congratz

  • The song is a remix of one of Linkin Park's. Just can't remeber the name. Linkin Park freakin owns!

  • Well C# is pretty same to C++, but c# is slower, cuz it runs over .NET framework 0:

Well but I think if you can program in c#, you can do it in c++ too O:

  • It isnt Good

But it sure isnt bad ;)!

  • Amazing :D I love when he duck :D :D

  • I know several different languages.. C++ is probably one of the harder ones to use. Which is why they teach it in Comp Science majors, b/c if you can work w/ Obj. Oriented Programming in C++ along w/ pointers etc.. you can breeze through Java, C#, .NET etc.. C# is relatively new and has built in libraries that spoon feed you functionality. Older languages lack this.

  • You copied a tutorial from XnaDevelopment. Good job.

  • @Blynx Maybe he's a beginner. Way to be a whore.

  • @Blynx I lol'd.

  • Oh hi:

    xnadevelopment[dot]com/tutorials/thewizardshooting/thewizardshooting.shtml

You copied a tutorial. Good job.

  • I don't like the music, but I appreciate the game :P

I'm just starting to learn C# and I'm hoping to make something like this soon.

The crouch is pretty funny, with the eyes in the hat :D

  • btw i need to know c++ before c# (c++ = crawling, c# = walking)

  • Java is a bitch! Even though I cheated on my final exam. Those for and while loops was kicking my ass. That why I am investigating the C# language now. Or should I stick with English. Ha Ha Ha

  • C# complicated?

Well, I think Microsoft Word is the most complicated software to use...

If you want to see some easy-to-use softawars go to 3dmax and maya.

But Microsoft Word - too hard!

  • Heres how it goes.

First, everyone programmed in assembler, its still around today because of how powerful it is. But assembler was mostly phased out by C++, which made it easier to program which meant better productivity. C++ is used primarily today.

C# is very new, and its another step up from C++, although it lacks some horsepower over C++, C# is much easier to use and learn.

I believe that C# is the language of the future, just like C++ was over assembler.

  • Thats a preety nice game can i have it?

  • C# c++ java, c, and all these programmings languages are not complicated xD, they're gay, real men program in punched cards, i programmed a full online shotter in punched cards, just ignore these haters, theres no easy programming language if you learn them by yourself, like i did, although what you did was very simple, i think that's from a tutorial in somewhere i dont remember,

keep working, good jobs require a lot of time and experience

  • can you guys tell me whats the real name song?

  • why must people contunue to fuck up linkin parks songs...

  • @LenwoDe spam advertisment... fuck you

  • C# hello world using system static void Main(String[] args) { Console.WriteLine("Hello World!"); } C++ hello world #include "stdafx.h" #include <iostream> int _tmain(int argc , _TCHAR* argv[]) { Std: : cout << "Hello world!\n"; return 0; }
  • Not going to start flaming, but if you think C# is easier than C++ then you don't really know C++.

there's a big difference between the little hello world programs you're taught in uni and real professional c++ programs.

  • @LenwoDe NOt the most, not by far but I personally do find it hard. I completely loose sight of what is what with all thesse curly brackets. Gimme VB or just plain asm, way more comprehensible...

  • Far better then what I ever achieved. Pretty! However the title is a little deceiving. All you need now is conviction. It's important to keep on learning and using a language to real get the hang of it, thats why the only language I excel in is the TI calculators Basic and Asm language...

  • What about action scripting?

  • C# and Java are almost exactly the same conceptually and in practice. Pascal and C++ are by far and away the most difficult of the "mainstream" languages. Relatively speaking, Java and C# are the best languages for --beginners-- but even better than that are languages like Python.

Definitely check Python out, I think you'll love it as much as me! :)

  • most complicated is c++ in my opinion

  • What is the event handler you used for the character to move smooth like that?

  • yea but you didnt make this. This is an reimers tutorial or a ziggyare tut.

  • heres the site that ne got it from:

    xnadevelopment com

theres more tuts on this site too

  • WOW I didn't know you knew how to follow tutorials!

  • i think there is still confusion but it's ight,

I like the example Goalatio posted ; )

but yeah I was saying vb/scripting is lower/easier C++/assembly being wow kinda stuff ;p

  • Just to show you guys the difference between C# and assembler..

    "Hello world in C#"

    Console.WriteLine("Hello, world!");

    Assembler:

    hello db "Hello, world!", 13, 10, "$"

    mov ah,9

    mov dx,hello

    int 21h

As you can very obviously see, assembler has MORE lines AND much harder to remember.

Honestly, I dont even remember what this argument was about.

  • Despite all the hating on you, c# is a great language, keep at it, and don't let these comments get you down, its still an awesome project xD I'm subbing you :D

  • although I do hear there are fancy things to do with c# like messing with the gpu, and some other stuff

  • Lol hardest language to learn... Do you know any others? Don't lie and say, I made a game in C++... I wanna know what you did, how you did it, and why c# is so much harder

  • @eatcomics Assembly :P

but yeah I'm a C#'er but C++ is a higher language lol java and C# go hand in hand

someone was saying vb made javascript or something and that java made C# and J#

    course what do I know...

  • how is C++ harder than assembly?

C++ is a lower level language than java and c#

dude.. wtf are you talking about?

  • @eatcomics

You've just misread what I put down.

You were talking about C++ being harder, thus I combated your attack with -> assembly

I never said C# was higher than C++ I said C++ is a higher language

Although in the same clause I do start re-talking about C# and java, that was not supposed to be part of the clause, but idk how you read that I said C++ was lower than C# or that assembly was below anything.

    anywho, gooday chaps

  • C# is a higher level language than c++ >.>

assembly is the lowest you can get, aside from binary, the closer to the hardware the language is, the lower level it is... so c# is higher level than c++ and assembly, you misread what I said, I was correcting you, not saying you said that c# was higher, because then you would have been correct :D

  • @eatcomics ah okay, we had different definitions lol thanks for clearing that up : )

I've always thought that a "high language" was like C++ compared to a language/scripting language such as au3 or basic or something like that. Always thought of lower, being lower on the food chain of easiness, but lower means closer to the machine level of coding.

now you might just make me have an epiphany lol.

  • i was hoping for a tutorial

  • this guy has no plan...

  • C# is the hardest language to learn? lol C++ is the hard stuff , I'm 13 and I know C# pretty damn well :P

  • lol no c++ is not the hard stuff you should try F+++

that is the serious stuff its more like " fmbn 19 ghsie 24" its called computer language and about 1/10 can do it

  • Why are you spamming?

  • LOL u guys all got trolled soo hard by chinesesamurai.

  • Point of learning the hardest language?! Another "I've got the biggest" on youtube -_- Grow up!

He wants to use C#, fine! What has it got to do with you all? People use a language depending on the final result they want not the difficulty level of it...

Btw: Assembler is a bitch and exept for a Ps3 game why would you even bother?

  • yeah, but him saying c# is the hardest is just... wrong...

  • as for assembly, what if you were making an emulator? or if you were coding a driver for some hardware you made?

  • I'm really happy for you all, and Imma let you finish, but Brainfuck is the hardest language of all time, OF ALL TIME!

  • @evilagram lol wow, I've never heard of that, but I just googled it and looked @ the hello world, it's like oct or something, so only 8 different things/characters exist?, that's crazy, yet awesome and very round about way of thinking

  • look at brainfuck :D or whitespace :D x2

  • oops didn't know you were talking about brainfuck, but yeah whitespace is the same pretty much

  • @eatcomics yeah after I started talking about brainfuck to my friend he was like, well check out white space :P

    (we own this post haha)

  • lol

  • Look dude.

Get a book about C#..for example "Sam teaches you " and look what they say.

When you come to the part where you write HelloWorld application, you will see it has more lines then any other programing language. And then in the text he says "You can see that C# has more lines than c++ or other langugae, this is because C# is MORE COMPICATED"

Assembly languages are special thing, and I agree they are to hard to be learnd.

C# has great potentional, it is just not used as C++

  • Too hard to be learned? Pfft, I know 16-bit assembly by heart. :)

  • /agreed, assembly isn't "too hard to be learned"

  • c# is not more complicated than c++, c++ just has a different, more evolved syntax, c++ has been around for a while, c# will get more efficient with time, c++ isn't as managed as c#, not that c# isn't difficult, pretty much any programming language is difficult... but yeah you can't say that because you took more lines to write a simple hello world program in a language, doesn't mean its more complicated, just means that that language uses more resources to accomplish the same thing

  • Okay this is it, I have gotten way too many insults here about my opinion on the difficulty of C#. I can believe what I want to believe and you can believe what you want to believe. I am disallowing comments until I get some apologies for the people who committed these acts. You know who you are.

  • @chinesesamurai12 Don't worry about what other ppl write...You've did well with this video...I've learned something and i'm a junior in college...people are going to talk about you until the day you day so why worry an listen to them! keep up the v

  • @chinesesamurai12 hhh not bad i like it :D

  • @chinesesamurai12 You are right. Programming languages are far from being easy and in fact they get complicated more with each new release. The problem with programming languages is that they have always targeted the realization of algorythms for computers and not the creativity of people. This is the obstacle for swift and great developments. One should be able to programm computers without minding object models, function libraries and other needless knowledge.

  • @chinesesamurai12 people are just jelous yours are better

  • @chinesesamurai12 You say people can believe what they want... then why are you telling them off for doing exactly that?

  • haha Rofl if you think c# is hard then try c++ hahahahah :D

  • c++ isn't hard, nooooob.

c# can do as much and almost more than c++ currently.

  • lol "C# is the hardest language to learn."

i thing C# is one of the easiest languages to learn...

you probably dont know many languages.

try functional programming - HASKEL for example.

you should try ASSEMBLER as well :)

  • Man, you should learn some SmallTalk and then come here to re-edit your last claim in the video.

    good luck

  • You think C# is a tricky handful? Try assembler... B-)

  • "C# is the hardest language to learn." This is why you should not do drugs while making videos.

  • even if C# is the hardest to learn, it's not as powerful as C++, FTW

  • anyone has any idea on how could C# work for a game similar to rock band or frets on fire ?

  • true fact bro..this guy just wana show off...LOL when i heard of people talking about C# i thoug iot was going to be hard.. ROFL its VB whit semi colons hahahahaha..i cant beleve it still

  • i think blitz3d is better

  • sweet.

  • C# isn´t complicatd to learn. C++ is complicated to learn (cuz you have to safe, free your memory after using...etc.) as first language and it took 1 year of my time^^. But C# is easy !

  • well it depends what you do in c#. plus the dev kit for 360 is over 10 thousand USD. i CANNOT afford that. the dev kit for XNA in c# is 100 bucks. so when you can code a AAA game in c# fluently you can tell me it is easy. but ofcoarse c++ is more complex, but does that really make it better for game design. i mean if making it more complex was better why doesnt every dev right in ASM? *exuse my spelling :)

  • it's more complex but more powerful, as C# is simpler to learn but not as powerful. So, basically you should start with C# and then move onto C++

  • I don't know objective C is pritty hard too. (Good Job though, keep pushing yourself.)

  • Can i ask for the source code of it??

    pls...

    thanKz!

    it is really nice!

  • if you can java you also can c# =)

  • lol very nice. let me guess. XNA studio? i use that too! the backround color appears to be the default "cornflour blue" color :) i made a similar game for my zune :D

  • C# by far not the most complicated programming language. If that's what you think you obviously haven't tried a lot of different languages. Even C++ is far more complicated then C#......

  • I dont think C# is very complicated

  • Ever made a game in C# ?

Care to show me your work ?

If you think its ' not complicated ' !!

  • Where did you learn c#? Internet tutorial, teacher, etc?

  • Are you critizing my opinion? If you are, i'll let you know this: YouTube is a place for opinions, not hate.

  • @chinesesamurai12

probably he is jealous: D Really good performance man!

  • @NicoRapTV Do you know is this xna or just a normal forms application?

  • Comment removed

  • @chinesesamurai12 im 11 and i know all three

  • @chinesesamurai12 i am 11 and i know all 4...i respect all opinions

  • Eh? C# is more complicated than Java and, of course, is a better designed language.

  • I have used Java for a long time and I am not going to lie, It is complex. C# was harder for me then VB but not nearly as hard as Java was. ASM was a ton harder to learn then all of them. lol

  • @AngelOfTheHumiliated I know this is a late reply to your comment, but I just wanted to say that Java isn't hard to use at all. chinesesamurai could have little or very little experience with programming, therefore he thinks C# is complicated. On the other hand, you have experience and you don't think it's complicated. My point is that we all have our opinions and you don't gain respect for attempting to insult anyone over YouTube.

  • hey, I need to know 1 thing. tell me about those 'flames' - are they new, separated objects? do you store them in byte/array? how do you refer to their coordinates? thx

  • quite nice

  • perfect " chinesesamurai12 "
