There are 1 million muslims in your country of 16 million. Now, keep in mind that number is young and growing. When older people die off, you will see a massive shift in demographics. Current rates project 50-100 years until islam overtakes some countries. I'm not saying this to scare you but it's happening.
In short, populations need religion to keep growing. What is happening is europe is that Islam is usurping Christianity. I personally think they'd be better under a liberal Christianity than fundamentalist Islam.

I'm from the North and I've learned that so many Southern people are some of the finest Americans there are.....and yeah, when I was a young and ignorant teen they were "rednecks," and now I know better. About what Lennon said, in defense of the radio stations, information back then took far longer to travel around than it does today. Lennon's words were taken out of context, but the initial outrage from Christians in the South was surely understandable.

His words were taken totally out of context, when in fact he was observing that the kids in the UK were more serious about attending Beatles concerts than going to church. Sadly, it was this quote which sparked off Mark David Chapman to work on his plot to murder Lennon later on.

I understand what he meant, and it was true too. I'm a Christian, and I don't take offense cuz kids did care about the Beatles more than chuch and Jesus. It's only that he phrased it so badly, he had a knack for that. He phrased it so that it was easily taken out of context. I don't know who to get mad at, people for over reacting or John for not thinking before he spoke.

You DO have the right to free speech without government censorship, but the other members of the public have the right to say you're a nitwit, advocate boycotts of your products, etc. It's a free country -- for those who disagree with you as well. Those who worship celebrities are usually suprised to find there is no requirement their pronouncements be chiseled in stone.
