  • 1:36 - 1:45 is hilarious!!

  • Big help! Thanks!

  • How did you close it up after you fill it up... And how u did the stand??? I love this

  • how did you make the stand?

  • Cuuuute shape on you.

  • Found you miss new booty!

  • Why did you begin filming in the middle of the project? How and where do you begin the taping? Some show beginning at the top and others at the bottom. How do you get a good bustline, shoulders and arms? This is great looking but missing too many details.

  • @PurpleStarr76

oh, thank you very much, meanwhile i've already made my dress form. finally i used polyurethane spray and it worked pretty well. sadly here where i live pollyfill is not available, so i had to come up with some alternatives. : D

  • One of the best explanations - thank you! :D

  • Thanks for the video. I've been wanting a dress form but didn't want to spend the money and not have the shape that matches my body. What kind of stad do you have it on?

  • Your husban seems so nice lol

  • Hm, should I hold my belly in so my tummy looks flat?

  • hey, may i use a buch of newspaper to fill it in instead of this polyfil stuff?

  • Where did you get a stand to put it on?

  • i love the idea and it's a great money saver but what exactly did you use to protect your skin below...was it a dress??

  • the sound on my computer wasnt working so i couldnt tell if you said how to hang it up or whatever... how do you do that?

  • a bit tight...

  • That is an awesome duct tape dress form. I mean I have seen some and none of them are as good as this one!

  • I'm planing of making dresses out of duck tape and this is brilliant so I can always make my dresses fit write thx so much

  • He did a great job. Looking forward to making mines.

  • Brilliant idea!

  • Thank you for doing this tutorial...also a great way to spend an afternoon with your partner <3 Fantastic!

  • 2:35 ... twins.... bullshit look at them

  • You are a beautiful couple!

  • how do you keep the fill from falling out??

  • Comment removed

  • @she2hadthedramathick

How about closing the bottom with duck tape as well!? :)

You could even cut a mold out of some card board maybe.

  • your butt is like perfect.haha imagine a girl with a flat butt in that.? no no..

  • nice body

  • It's very creative and clean. Poly-fil is a great material to stuff it rather than using paper. You're a very artistic couple and kudos to your supportive husband.

  • this looks so easy! you've got such a hot body, by the way.

  • GREAT IDEA! i don't sew, but if i ever do try to make clothing for myself i will DEF be making YOUR DUCT TAPE DRESS FORM!! :)

  • Thee best..will do!!! love your voice as well <3

  • what did you use for the stand?

  • Thanks so much for this. Not only did you just save me $200+, your tip for marking the waistline, etc is gold; and, as a bonus, it made me smile with joy to see your husband helping you out like that!

  • Is that Randy J Goodwin from Girlfriends?

  • Beatiful dress form and how great is your husband! He did a fantastic job. TFS Chris

  • Hi, I have a question... What did you use for the stand? I see you have is rotating on something- that's where I'mhaving a hard time finding something for myself?

  • Hi. Great visual on dress/body form. There are gaps to what and how to do it. I know that you use an old/no longer wearing underneath and then start taping. I see placing lines where waste and chest is. Cut the back to remove from you. Now...did you then tape the back and other openings: neck, arms, leg areas? I would like to see materials used to create the stand for your dress form dummy. Could you create a video on that? It would be very useful. How much would that activity cost too?

  • How did you tape up the bottom so the fill didn't come out?

  • best tape dressform i seen made tell ur husband great job

  • you guys look like so much fun. You remind me of me and my wife. What did you use for the pole?

  • Just what I need! How do you fit it on a stand? What about buying a cheap dress form with a stand that is close to the right size and putting the duct tape on on it?

I Guess the hollows would have to be filled in with polyfil or other?

I really need to get one of these that is accurate as I have sloping shoulders and on hip a little higher than the other.

  • Thank you

  • bangin' body

  • @slytherinstargirl if all your gonna do in life is have sex, or think about it, then you are a waste of time.

  • @iwannabeasinger12 : good luck becoming a singer. by the way, it's "you're"

  • Thanks very much!

  • Did you have to worry about the form spreading out of shape around the neck opening after you filled it?

  • I love this! Will you do more videos showing how you make your own fashions? I'm just learning how to use a body form.

  • If you could post a video on how u made the stand that would be awesome!

  • Nice work! So do you simply duct tape over the arm, neck and bottom holes? How do you mount the form on a stand? do you need to reinforce it somehow when you impale the form on a stem?

  • love it!!!

  • I love the concept... I just want to know how you got all that duct tape to sit so nicely on your body! Yours looks so great, I just wish there was a tiny bit more instruction before you cut it off. Did you just wrap it around across ways? Doesn't it bunch up/fold unattractively at your curves?

  • This is friggin brilliant!

  • HI! Love it.....what did you put it on after you were done?

    Thanks in advance.....

  • ty for your video very helpful

  • great hubby- mine would have laughed at me and then protested to helping-

yours looked like he was really into it~ how sweet! :)

  • TO MAKE A STAND for the form: here's how I did it: I put a wire hanger up into the shoulders as they were stuffed, then continued stuffing around a cardboard decor fabric roll tube with a slit cut in the top end for the wired form to hang off, and finally cut a hole in some scrap wood for a base so it would stand up. Very cheap and easy to adjust height by cutting the tube.

  • questionn !! how can i put this on a stand if you did ? your dress form looks like its on a stand , is it? and how can i put it on one ?thnkyou very much this video is so helpfull!! how many rolls of ducktape btw ? i have your body just a little bit thicker,, thankyouu!

  • this is very helpful

  • wow!!!

  • his is so freakin cool!!! I love it...I think I may have to do one now!! ok, so I know I have to pee before, and do at least 3 layers of it....I can't though see how to do the sand and the rod goes all the way through the dress form??..or half wyas...hmm...not sure..but I guess I could figure it out, I can be creative if I have to be!! Thanks girl and hi5!!! Awesome....going to my fav's!! xoxo Jules:)

  • It is best to do at least two layers. One around. One up and down to hold it all together. Some people even do a third, around, layer.

  • damn, girl! we have the same exact shape. could you just send me one of yours?

  • what do u use for the stand?--anyways, awesome video!

  • Awesome tutorial!

  • Fantastic! Give that guy a kiss for all of us!

  • thanks for sharing, this is great idea.. I do have a question tho... what did you use as a stand?

  • So, what if you have to pee?

  • @TempleOfTofu It's like taking the kids out... make sure you all pee beforehand.

  • Thank you for sharing this. My 6 year old daughter goes through dresses faster than you can shake a stick so I made a manequin of her. I used our Christmas tree stand for the base and a heavy wood dowel rod (hardware store, good for hanging curtains too!) and made to height as well as size. On top of that she loves to dress it up too! How cute is that!

  • Thank you for this informatve video. I did most of the taping myself, but it came out pretty good..now I have to find something to stand it on, the cardboard tube(from a bolt of material) worked pretty good until people stared knocking it over, but she is on a bunch of Avon boxes, time to get a stand...be blessed

  • That was just amazing. I was just getting ready to buy one for at least $99 and now I am going to make my own. Glass of wine, Friday night, roll of duct tape, sounds like a party!

  • this is exactly what i have been looking 4...thanks.

  • Great job. You have a great husband!!

  • How did you make the stand for it???

  • ive been planning on making this for a while now, and i love your video it was very helpful :)

when you make it in duct tape, does it handle pins like a normal dress form?

  • Great vid but your natural waist line is the smallest circumference of your torso, watch your vid and you'll see when you bend that your body creases up higher as well as where you marked it. Your natural waist line is not where you wear your pants. thanks for sharing

  • About how much tape did you use?

  • thank you so much-what a great idea! please show how you work on it? Do you put it on a table? What did you put on your body first? I saw black and white fabric

  • omg very smart

  • totally awesome! i have a dress form that isn't accurate to my body so this is a great idea.

  • wow thanks

  • OMG! you are a GENIUS, thank you for the tip :D

  • u have such a good body. never wudda though duct tape was hot lol

  • Really a great ideal, I do some textile work and that's awesome!

  • you can also stuff it with newspaper! :) just an idea :) xx

  • Thank you so much! My sweet ten year old daughter is wanting to design her own fashions, and the cheapest childs form I could find online was over $500!! She will be thrilled with this idea!! Do you have an idea how to put it on a stand?

  • Try a broom stick, you can get a broom from the dollar store. Then to keep it up try one of those Christmas tree stands. That should work great to keep it standing ^^

  • This is fantastic. Thank you for the inspiration!

  • Maybe if i looked like that my husband would help me with mine! :(

  • Dat ass :3c

  • can she breath.

  • sex doll

  • You guys are so cute! Thanks for the vid!

  • i should so try this lol, it would be a whole lot easier for me XD

  • You guys are so freakin' cute! What a wonderful husband you have and he's a really neat duct-taper too! Great job!!!! I'll be giving this a go this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • is ur husband an actor? I could swear i seen him on tv or in a movie.

  • wouldn't it be easier to just buy a dress form? I bought one for $175 PGM dress form, wasn't too bad

  • Brilliant! What a good sport your husband is and he did a great job.

  • how much duct tape did you use

  • do you wear a bra while doing this?

  • @babu921angel: You probably would, since you wouldn't go around wearing your outfit without a bra.

  • yes.

  • I love how intent your husband is on making that dress form perfect. :)

  • @6477bgwu That's exactly how my husband was! It was like manly project for him because it dealt with duct tape.

  • wow! that was amazing and neat job. good job thanks for tutorial

  • Super helpful!!! I've never made a dress, so figured I'd get some good DIY tips here, this vid is a perfect starting point!!

  • You folks did a great job! Very helpful video...

  • Awesome! I need to do this ASAP!! thanks so much for posting this!

  • wasn't her husband the resturant owner on the first season of girlfriends? I think him and joan almost hooked up at the end o f the season?

  • when the husband was taping the ass he was trating it like "MY PRECIOUS" (voice of gollom)

  • wat did u use to make ur stand?? i wanna know.. and yes nice booty.. thanks for video..

  • That is a GREAT idea. And you have an awesome butt lol I'm jelous.

  • Wonderful idea!!!

  • I'm also curious what you used to make the stand or base you put the dress form on?

  • @shemsdance : a friend of mine actually made one of these herself, and for a stand, she used an old lamp stand. remove the lamp and the bulp at the top and stick your dress form over the center rod instead.

  • what if youre fat

  • lots and lots of duct tape

  • very fun! what a great idea. Does anyone know what that red tape is they use on Project Runway to apply the fabric onto the dress form???

  • @jmzwick - its bias tape to mark the style lines of ur design

  • Nice!!! I will have to try this

  • I made a sculpture once of my body that way!!! we are like mined indeed! i painted it- your giving me flashbacks, unlike you, I did not have any help and had to tape myself and then cut myself out- haha,

    Great!!!

  • That must have been hilarious! :) This is a brilliant idea.

  • is it still easy to move around in it even though it's made of duct tape? like walk, bend over, twist, etc?

  • What a great idea!!! Now if I can just convince my husband to help me out with this...

  • my husband helped me, and he got really hot and bothered (especially cutting me out), lead with that, lol he will help.

  • you guys are fantastic! thank you so much!!!

  • do you wear something that you cut off with the ductape?! Great video and great idea!

  • Yes. You wear a long shirt that is approx. fitting to your thighs. One that you don't mind getting ruined. :]

  • ok! I'll start doing it tonight

  • You are fabulous girl! Ur husband too...Ive been searching on craigslist for kids dressforms for my childrens clothing line. i love your idea. my husband and i did something similar when i was pregnant so i get ur idea. hey it might be fun taping our 4 kids up. thanks for the great idea.... MJ

  • Can I borrow your husband? He did an amazing job, I live alone and hve no one to help me...LOL

  • You and your huband are amazing.

  • i heard that duct tape stretches because it is so sticky..and sometimes the dress form will stretch out a few inches so I think it's best to paper mache it to finish it off, or use clear packing tape which doesn't stretch. great video!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i like it and everything and think its eazy but i dont really like u kno.. the duct tape look lol i meean could u cover it in fabric or sumthin?

  • you can get coolio colored duct tape, or when you are done, cover it in plaster and then paint it, OR you could cover it in fabric when you are done:]

  • How does she go to the rest room with that O.o?

  • if it only takes like 30-40 minutes to make, you'd just have to hold it.

  • This is excellent. I am going to make myself one of these, so thank you for posting this.

I'm not sure what to fill it with though. What is poly fill?

  • poly fill is what is used to stuff pillows, and craft stuffed animals. You can purchase it at any craft store or fabric store.

  • Ah! Thank you so much. :D

  • Or you can just use newspaper or cotton.

  • If u make the best duct tape prom dress, U can get a scholarship, my sister know s someone that wants 2 do it.

  • this idea is amazing!!

i applaud you for being awesome

  • WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!!!! You are awesome, that is a remarkably cheap and fantastic idea. A cheap dress form in my area costs about $200.00 and up, and yours is more acurate and 1/10 the cost. Thank you for this idea so much!!

  • What an awesome husband! And what an awesome idea! How did you put it on a stand - perhaps just a dowel rod stuck in the fill?

  • im gay so i dont know if my opinion matters, but you have a really cute body :) PS: this works GREAT for guys! I made myself a jacket on my dressform before realizing... "wait... i dont have boobs...crap!" haha :) THANKS! THIS IS GREAT!

  • haha!! me too XD

    and i agree :P

  • OMG this is the most fricken awesomeest thing i have ever seen! i was thinking of just buying a dress form but this is just more awesome.

  • once you've cut the back of the dress form, how do you put it back on without it being open? do you have a zipper there?

  • Love this! Just wondering how one would go about attaching this form to a stand? ANyone have any ideas?

  • thank you~ simply genius~

  • Oh sweet Jacob, Mary and Joseph. My baby was getting ready to spend $250 on a form until I saw this video. We are already on it. This will be tomorrow's task as summer is on the way. I have had the hardest time getting my designs to fit me because I have a 34.5 waist with a 42.3 hip. No matter where I went to look for a dressform, I was frightened about the possibility of an ill-fit. No more worries thanks to you and your hubby. A girl with a serious apple-bottom thanks you both. . .

  • genius

  • WO-O-O-O-nderful!! Hey, what did you use under the tape that was black and white stripped? ( saw it inside the dress form after you took it off. Super idea.

    sallyt1@suddenlink,net

  • that would be the dress that she was wearing.. very well couldn't have the tape sticking directly to the skin, could you?

  • it would hurt like hell...

  • It's 530am and I'm sitting at work wasting time. (in Seattle WA) I've heard of people making dress forms out of duct tape so I came here. Imagine my surprise to see that your husband is Terri Goodwin!! I'm cracking up! I don't know Terri but I know his brother Brian! My friends and I used to go watch the Goodwin boys play basketball in that park off of 78th street when we were in high school! Oh yea and I'm totally going to try making the dress form now!

  • awesome!

    ^^

  • what did you use as a stand?

  • You and your husband are my new best friends. I heading to the store to get some duct tape, so when my husband get home he can wrap me up in it. Won't he be surprised, lol. No, really this is so great. And thanks to all of you who have tried it and posted comments.

  • This is so awesome. I think I just may do this...I just need to find a handsome man to help me out ;)

    BTW, you've got a beautiful shape. :)

    Cheers!

  • That is AWESOME!!! I wish I thought of this tears ago!! Thanks!! :)

  • lol tears ago, i get it =p

  • wow great idea! kudos. looks great and saves a lot of money. i'm going to try it out!

  • that was soo cool...!!!!

  • i think you should wear the dress like that to a party

  • lol that would be funny but so much cooler if the duck tape was different colors

  • Hi Mimi & Hubby, I just finished my duct tape dress form and it looks great. Thanks so much. I was wondering...what did you use as a base? I notice yours was able to swivel a total 360 degrees just like a store bought one.

  • What a great idea! And yes, commercial dress forms= huge waste of money. You and your husband are my new do-it-yourself heros!

  • Brilliant!!

  • cont... I watched both of your duct tape dress form videos and taping is so important if you want to have the most true to form replica of yourself. Your hubby is amazing. I think this is the best taping I've seen as of yet. Please tell him on behalf of all the money conscience people out there.... THANK YOU!

  • Mimi, this is truly amazing! Dressforms are so costly nowadays. And if you're a woman of color, they tend not to fit your body proportions accurately. so, why pay all that money and still be disappointed?

  • omg.. i WISH i had these videos before i spent $199 PLUS CANADIAN TAX on it =(

i can't even return it. it aint my size no matter what, and i love this idea better. o well, can't hurt to get two forms. hehe.. thanks guys
