There is veneration, which is saying something like "I appreciate the things you teach me; you help me learn and grow in God." It is a far higher level than just "veneration."

The Catholic Church is not teaching that the Virgin Mary is God. Jesus is God the Virgin Mary is a Saint. In Luke 1:43 "How is it that the mother of my Lord comes to me?" Mary is the mother of Jesus, and Jesus is God 100%(John 5:18), it doesn't mean that Mary is a Goddess. The Church never worship Mary, we are only venerating her above all the saints and angels BUT NOT ABOVE GOD.

The one who teaches us these things is none other than the HOLY SPIRIT, as what Jesus said in John 14:26 "The Advocate the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name -he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you."

Mary is the only one "full of grace" Luke 1:28 and her parents and relatives are not, their holiness is not the same as Mary's.
