FormerTVAddict, I hardly think this song is the best song that Barbra ever sang. It's okay, but not the most memorable song she has ever done by a long shot.
When cable first came out in the late 70's, HBO played the same movies and specials over and over. Laura Mars w/ Faye Dunaway, Looker w/ Albert Finney, Lipstick w/ Margaux Hemingway, and some I forget. These shows are etched in my mind like stained glass. I have probably seen Diana Ross at Caesar's Palace 50 times and I still love it here on Youtube. I love the song "Prisoner" to this day as much as I did the first time I heard it.
"Prisoner" here and "Left in the Dark" on her "Emotion" album make me think that Jim Steinman might have been a good choice to produce a whole album for Barbra, she can certainly nail those over-the-top productions. Barbra, if you're reading, how about a cover of "Total Eclipse of the Heart"? I'm only half kidding, can you imagine how wild that would be?
Well, I won't bother watching it now! Thanks for being the one arse that has to spoil it for anyone else who hasn't seen it yet. Pat yourself on the back. Or better still do us a favour and remove your comment.
The ending of the a whodunnit is the major point of a crime movie! Spoiler means just that; you spoil it for others. Seems I'm not the only one to point out the obvious to you.
Do you remember the initial enjoyment you had on watching this movie for the first time and trying to work out who was the killer? Why would you not want others to enjoy the same experience regardless of how old the film is; I saw Dr Caligari the other day (1921) and saw it as a virgin-viewer. Why ruin it for others?
Obviously we've touched a raw nerve; the lady doth protest too much. Do you find it so hard to admit you may be wrong? But hey, if you wanna dig your heels in then go ahead. Just don't expect a standing ovation. I mean there is a reason you've so many thumbs down already.
P.S. I notice you've removed your previous comment to xandre111 telling him where to go. I wonder why!

Oh my, this is a fun forum, not one where adults argue about someone giving up an ending to a freaking movie. A raw nerve? Is there such a thing as a cooked, steamed, boiled, fried or baked? I removed it because I wanted to. Stop reading stuff that upsets you. You are unemployed or under employed, live at home, and sleep until after 2 P.M.

Maybe you graduated from high school. Heels? Wow, wear them if you want. Borrow your mom's since you live there anyway. Remember that this is a public forum, and you might read stuff that will ruin your movie watching life. Wonder about more important things, like how to stop child abuse or how you can move out of your mommy's house.

As for the number of thumbs down, so what. It's fun to watch what people write. Most of the time it is intelligent, but sometimes I get loser's like you. Get another video of this song, so you can just walk away from your issues bout having a movie ending ruined for you. REALLY???? This is your biggest problem.

WOW. Thanks for the laughs. We are enjoying your finger pointing. Wrong? About what? Get over it already. Now you are quoting Shakespeare? Standing ovation? We are really enjoying your silly person comments. And who is "WE"? Multiple personalities? HAPPY NEW YEAR FREAK.
The reason Streisand sang it (she was after one entertainer in the world at the time) was that it was produced by her boyfriend Ms Streisand dis not sing theme songs at the time. They kept it quite at at the premier is was the only time the audience stayed to hear the song at the end of the closing credits
Interestingly, the original premise for this film was a male sound-recordist who could hear people being murdered. It was to be called 'The Ears of Victor Neptune'. Then Dunaway got involved and 'ears' were changed to 'eyes', hence the film's title.
I was first introduced to her after listening to this very song. "Hey, who's this singer, so powerful but yet so dramatic? That was my first impression of her.
So right. Seventies New York was supreme luxury, 'then' cutting edge style and opulent glamour. The bedroom is so stylish and glam. I love it still ... no one does it anymore
This is the first movie i ever solved before the killer was revealed to the viewer i was 12 ..I will never forget because its awesome to solve a mystery before the revelation of who the killer is.
This movie always made the hairs on the back of neck stood up.
The opening is great but its the closing I like the best. The phone call she makes "... my name is Laura Mars." Then close up, then credits. Chokes me everytime. Somebody please upload it.
GREAT MOVIE! The filming for the Eyes Of Laura Mars ended in 1979 & the soundtrack became available,& Not on CD. ;-) As far as Showtime is concerned, they have been playing this movie a few times a week, also it's being played on "Flix" -- and "The Movie Channel" all (3) Channels are owned and are affilated with Showtime Networks, so if your looking to see this movie, it's worth it! Faye Dunaway shot this right before "Mommie Dearest" in 1980, back to back! GREAT MOVIE! The DVD has been released
Indeed a captivating and beautiful song by Barbara. Once again, the late 70s and early hold more 'weight' concerning beautiful top 40 (IMO) than future era's.
The bedroom is so Drag.
