@2012Katay New Noctis does not look like the same Noctis you see in this trailer in the most recent trailer you can see that Square has drastically changed his design, Noct has new clothes, a shorter haircut and his face looks more human and mature now. he doesn't really look like Sasugay anymore but he did in this very old trailer. @DodgeandBud Considering how Europe gets games after Asia and America, about a few weeks or months after it's released in America. It usually takes around half a year to 8 months to fully translate a game from Japan, and I'm not sure when it'll be released in America. Maybe it has already, I'm not sure yet. I'll have to go check.

@Slipknot575 ummm... well 1. I love killzone as well! its awesome! 2. Final Fantasy games are all different are not connected. They each have a different story to them. But they are RPGs. The focus is much more on the story and characters than the game play. do not feel bad that you have only seen 7, 12, &13 because most people have only played 7 & up. The one i would recommend is 10 because it has the FF component (the standard creatures and format for story). I have played em all and luv em!

FF13 was a trainwreck. It had a fantastic battle system, incredible graphics, but terrible voice and gameplay. Way linear, boring storyline, bad characters, cheesy acting, and overall not fun. I have enjoyed final fantasy for my entire life. It has grown to become my favorite series, but I was incredibly dissapointed by FF13.
@kwang1imsa I thought the combat system was a bit trash. The ability to only directly control one character was annoying. The AI made terrible decisions. I can't count the number of times my allies used the wrong abilities in battle causing me to die. Other than that I agree with you.
It seems like some people are arguing that the VII series and Nobuo are gone, and so we get crappy games. I never played the VII series, but I've watched numerous clips of it - especially Crisis Core. It seems like a nice game, a game that both genders can play, but the aspects leaned in towards more to the male side (aka soldiers, many main male characters). Good story, but I'm a girly girl, and I rather play something a bit fair-square (like FF13) and this game. Also, VII series is expensive.
square enix are keep giving us a preview about this game a year ago for us to have an idea what that game would like be~ ^^ nice one. Nomura said it would be the best Final Fantasy Game Series ever!^^ and it will have no connection to other games (FF: Game Series).

Screwed Xbox360... This is be exclusive to PS3. If people don't want to be PS3 fan, don't play this game then. FF series has a long history with Play Station. I'm not a Sony Sag rider, but I'm not a red neck for Maden either ...that's my impression of an Xbox.

Sakaguchi was also a great director but most famous ff games like FFVI, VII, VIII, were directed by kitase and characters are designed by nomura. squares still got a lot of great people like Yoshinori Kitase, Tetsuya Nomura, Shinji Hashimoto, and a composer like yoko shimomura. so shut up if u dont know anything

I just finished Final Fantasy XIII and I thought that is was a very good game. Although, I did not care to much for the game play either but the graphics were amazing especially on Gran Pulse. But does this game have anything to do with XIII?? because from the previews it looks like an entirely different game. The cars are different and the scenery is different. Does anyone know what this one is going to be about? please let me know.
@Angelheart8888 nope its different, but quite similar. different storyline and different world. the only thing that making it similar are the crystals. and of course its part of the fabula nova crystallis which referring to crystals.
I do not understand why people fight over which system is the best but I guess these idiots are good for the gaming industry to continue evolving. So as long as these idiots continue to be idiots I can look forward to an awesome gaming experience. :)
After the unmitigated disaster that was FFXIII I hope Square can pull their finger out and actually deliver a decent Final Fantasy game. Versus looks more adult so that has allayed my concerns somewhat. It has a shade of FFVII about it. Oh, and the combat-system is apparently going to be lifted from Kingdom Hearts, which sounds good, and the world-map is apparently making a return.
The fact the game is linear isn't my biggest problem. After all, almost every game in the series has been linear, so complaining about the linearity is self-defeating. Though, FFXIII is certainly the most linear game in the series to date. In terms of level-design, it's less sophisticated than Pac-Man. The main reason I didn't enjoy FFXIII was because the game was laden with cut-scenes, the gameplay was repetitive and the characters were unmemorable.
@CHIPSTERO7 Repetitive gameplay? Haha! You tell me about it! I just finished ff13 and all I did was press (xbox) (A) button on and on and on... that and the occasionnal left bumber. Great game and story though. But little replay value since you have little choice of party members (Tank/dps/support). You're right, unmemorable characters, I barely saw the point of switching between them. And the Eidolon summon isn't enjoyable. I remember times when summoning was cool, now they dps lowe than I.

I have played and continue to play the FFXIII for PS3. With that said I have to say it is not the best final fantasy I have ever played. I do love the battle system because you have to think on your feet really quick, but the Story Line, though it is decent, I just don't feel that it flows very well at least not as well as I am used to seeing out of FF games. I do like the cast of characters for the most part, but am not attached to anyone of them for real.
I hope that they do take their time with versus and make it an excellent PS3 EXCLUSIVE this time and make a more grabbing story with more in depth characters, though I wouldn't mind them maintaining something along the lines of the FFXIII battle system. But the exclusive part is important to me because as a FF fan I bought a PS3 4 years ago with the vision of two FFXIII games being exclusive to the system. FFXIII didnt stay that way but I am hoping Versus will.
All though I know that they could probably easily hack the game into pieces and on 4-5 discs and put it on the 360 if they wanted to like they did with FFXIII.

This isn't set with Final Fantasy XIII, it's based in a whole different setting and isn't even on the same timeline. It's more modern.

Screwed Xbox360... This is be exclusive to PS3. If people don't want to be PS3 fan, don't play this game then. FF series has a long history with Play Station. I'm not a Sony Sag rider, but I'm not a red neck for Maden either ...that's my impression of an Xbox.

Don't you people know that Final Fantasy is dead and will never be again... Hironobu Sakaguchi & Nobuo Uematsu are Final Fantasy and they aren't at Square anymore. If you're going to expect anything like the past you're only in for disappointment you fools. Go in with low expectations and you just might enjoy the shit sanwiches to come from a broken company.

@EddyVitkauskasXband ur the real fool. Nobuo-san was a great artist but although he's not working INSIDE square's building, he still helps composing songs for several games. Sakaguchi was also a great director but most famous ff games like FFVI, VII, VIII, were directed by kitase and characters are designed by nomura. squares still got a lot of great people like Yoshinori Kitase, Tetsuya Nomura, Shinji Hashimoto, and a composer like yoko shimomura. so shut up if u dont know anything

@EddyVitkauskasXband oh, why dont u say some facts that would support wat u said. FFIX was a great game but Sakaguchi-san was NOT the director. the director was Ito and the producer was Hashimoto. Sakaguchi was just a co-producer. FFIX was the last FF game that had most of the RPG elements. and nomura is bringing those elements back to FFvXIII if the game is not port to the 360. and they dont even have plans for KH3 idiot. the development has not started

My (Opinion) is simply that Wwhen games were released under the Squaresoft name you got gold every time. When it became SquareEnix things started to go down hill. I didn't get to play FFXI so i can't compare that. FFXII was also a great game, with most of the RPG elements. maybe u didn't like it because it had the FF tactics style but it was great

FFXII was published by SQUARE ENIX so u cant say that its going downhill. many people even said that it was the best game they've ever play ever since FFVII (not me) so all u said was simply ur opinion. sure some developers had left the company but many great people are still there. Nobuo san IS still composing song for FF but he's not working inside the building.

I just finished Final Fantasy XIII and I thought that is was a very good game. Although, I did not care to much for the game play either but the graphics were amazing especially on Gran Pulse. But does this game have anything to do with XIII?? because from the previews it looks like an entirely different game. The cars are different and the scenery is different. Does anyone know what this one is going to be about? please let me know.

After the unmitigated disaster that was FFXIII I hope Square can pull their finger out and actually deliver a decent Final Fantasy game. Versus looks more adult so that has allayed my concerns somewhat. It has a shade of FFVII about it. Oh, and the combat-system is apparently going to be lifted from Kingdom Hearts, which sounds good, and the world-map is apparently making a return.

The fact the game is linear isn't my biggest problem. After all, almost every game in the series has been linear, so complaining about the linearity is self-defeating. Though, FFXIII is certainly the most linear game in the series to date. In terms of level-design, it's less sophisticated than Pac-Man. The main reason I didn't enjoy FFXIII was because the game was laden with cut-scenes, the gameplay was repetitive and the characters were unmemorable.

@CHIPSTERO7 Repetitive gameplay? Haha! You tell me about it! I just finished ff13 and all I did was press (xbox) (A) button on and on and on... that and the occasionnal left bumber. Great game and story though. But little replay value since you have little choice of party members (Tank/dps/support). You're right, unmemorable characters, I barely saw the point of switching between them. And the Eidolon summon isn't enjoyable. I remember times when summoning was cool, now they dps lowe than I.

It was always japanese. as was Enix, which published PC games (most dating sims of the ninties were done by them) as well as manga magazines. It was always japanese.

I have played and continue to play the FFXIII for PS3. With that said I have to say it is not the best final fantasy I have ever played. I do love the battle system because you have to think on your feet really quick, but the Story Line, though it is decent, I just don't feel that it flows very well at least not as well as I am used to seeing out of FF games. I do like the cast of characters for the most part, but am not attached to anyone of them for real.

I hope that they do take their time with versus and make it an excellent PS3 EXCLUSIVE this time and make a more grabbing story with more in depth characters, though I wouldn't mind them maintaining something along the lines of the FFXIII battle system. But the exclusive part is important to me because as a FF fan I bought a PS3 4 years ago with the vision of two FFXIII games being exclusive to the system. FFXIII didnt stay that way but I am hoping Versus will.
