Hmmm, why do so many haters come to these videos that tribute the fighting force of the ADF, this is a video to honor them not to discriminate them, so then why do you ewatch, to post negative comments? that is called trolling, remember you are entitled to your own opinion, but I suggest for the good of us who have served or whish to join the ADF - take em else where, this is a youtube video not a Political Forum
anyone who has adf expirence im in year 9 and i will finish year 10 but i really dont want to go to year 11 & 12, so my question is..what are my chances of getting in? and how can i get a better chance of getting in?
@Justenzy hmmm, well, for your Grunts, its still allowable, but Year 11 and Year 12 will be hard, but if you stay those extra 2 years, and just graduate, you can go for officer jobs or jobs which require a bit more tactical thinking, your in year nine eh, well the Cadets (army Navy, Air Force, take your pick) can give you a basic (or advanced) knowledge of drill and cerimonial and prepare you for some of the tasks in the ADF, recruiting season is next month, so if your going to join, join now,
Im a 16 yr old Kiwi, been living in australia for around 7 months and i really wanna join the army specifcaly ADF because im in yr 12 this year so its my last year of school until TAFE etc. so im wanting to be in Reserves, but i was just wondering, would they be able to fast track citizenship??? cos a friend of or family is a border patrolman i think and he was in the nz navy and he moved here and he was in the aus navy and said they fast tracked his citizen ship, but this was back in 2005...
i havent done training, aiming to get in for next year, but i just watched a whole lot of podcasts on the defencejobs website, and there are downloadable brochures on fitness standards and that sort.. check it out.
Join the army mate, it's definetly the place to be. It is - ofcourse physically more demanding than the Air Force, but i think it would be alot better to join the Army.
Mate if your like me - you are a true blue aussie and you want to serve your country then i advise: The Combat Engineers. We blow shit up all the time and we are frontline. You only need year 9 passes in maths and english to get in. I recommend speaking to a recruiter on the website beforehand.
army is only a year 9 pass for alot of things these days. you dont really need to be the brightest cookie. im currently going through a few tests then of to kapooka. go the infantry!!!
Yeah mate through my Cadet Corps i did a whole training bullring with the 8th Combat Engineers while they were training for deployment in Iraq. It's always fun to fire blanks XD
Hey, im 16 and i want too join as soon as i hit 17 but i dropped out of school in year 10 and i have been failing since year 5.. would i still be able to join? im not a retard or anything lol just really hated school, and lazy lol suck at spelling and math. thats bout it :S
Most jobs require a year 10 pass with passing marks in maths, english and science i think. obviosly some things have greater academic requirements. You should check out defencejobs com for more info.
Wish you all the best of luck with it. Reserves is a good move to start with the ADF. That's what I did back in 2005, and in Sep 2007 gone full time service.
@TheBlacktadpole I am an Aussie, I am a cadet, we are Australians, not americans (if thats what you mean and I suppose you are entitled to have your own beliefs) we work by our own guidlines for peace, we are not a corporate military, I hope to be a pilot in the tactical airlift squadrons of the RAAF someday, believe me if it was a corporate military I wouldn't touch it, I know from the personel, and my family in the ADF that they are for peace not war, show some respect for those who join

You'll either learn to love it... or fucken hate it.
I'd say give it 2 years and if you still hate it (those signed up for 4 year stints), then do your four and get the fuck out....

this would make anyone want to join the ADF... shame training is nothing like this- that's what I'm told, but I just joined for the uniform anyway
BloodyJaime 3 years ago
anyone who has been through the training, can you please tell me what it is like (physical side).
like the distances you have to run, sprint, march with packs etc.
i would like to try and achieve the level of fitness before even trying to get recruited : )
thanks in advance.

yea... i have checked it out, but to be honest they really dont answer my curiosity if you know what i mean...
cause the 2.4km run, is showed but i think they will get you to do more running than that down the line of training.
