Presentation obviously taken by someone who has never been in a riot in Northern Ireland. Just to point out from one of the comments, British soldiers do not deploy "snipers" to shoot petrol bombers! It would take a very brave soldier to shoot a petrol bomber with 5.56 as he would go straight to jail.

Not sure if I am answering your question correctly. But, the object of this training was to see how the Brits do things. So we could take into consideration if we needed to change how we do things. So there was no real 'lesson'. They showed us how they control riots.

In all actuality we watch each other work and then use what works. That is the best part of being friends and allies. Helping out one another. Not one lad holding the hand of another.

I am a prior service Marine and I am now a part of the US Army Infantry deployed in the slum of Serbia called kosovo. It is good that you take pride in what you are doing, so being moody gets the best of us sometimes. I have really enjoyed working with the Brits over here. Not so much the Pol's or ukraine guys. They dont shower and stink like all hell. Plus they steal crap from the chow hall...
