I believe it's Yamaha's Disklavier system, it can play whatever Midi data is sent to the piano. Sakamoto uses this to play 'duets' with himself.

自動ピアノは、教授がMacで事前にプログラミングして、MID­Iで自動演奏されています。Ustreamでソウル公演のリハー­サル風景を見ましたが、このプログラムは毎回少しずつ変えてるよ­うです。また、曲を弾き始める前に、舞台袖のオペレーターに教授­が合図してスタートします。

@Depapepe98 I, too, was fortunate to hear Sakamoto-san perform live in San Francisco that night. His music transcends all. Truly wonderful. Inspirational. I wish there could have been duel pianos as in this video - now THAT would have been an amazing experience, to be sure!

There were two pianos, the whole tour was with two pianos. This piece specifically, he never plays it without a 4 hand arrangement on two pianos!

@Artstar I don't recall seeing two pianos on stage in San Francisco, but maybe the lights were turned down too low and I couldn't see well enough.. The stage at the Regency Ballroom didn't seem large enough to easily accommodate a second grand piano anyway. I thought the additional piano contribution was previously recorded added to create a duet effect. It was a fantastic concert, in any case.

I still prefer the "BGM" version by far [best entire album ever made!], but this translated surprisingly well to piano.
