  • Out of all of the Bare Knuckles, this has the sweetest British tones. Very versatile. I can hear early Sabbath tones in there, too.

  • Before you start working out you're own version I'd learn the one from the record. It will make your version better. It wasn't bad though. not an easy tune. You're also pretty young to be tackling something like that. Get some live stuff and hear different versions of that song. watch how Jimmy can do the whole thing fluidly live. Great dynamic player. he works the volume and tone if you can see the song remains the same. watch him change the tone & volume and try and hear that as well as do it.

  • This guitar is for sale. Incl. the pickups and all. Contact me if interested.

  • great tone. i'm getting an Epi SG with Black Dog pickups.

  • your solo is really interesting :)

  • Great cover, great sound on your Epi!

  • Very nicely done, great playing and tone!

  • Have you gotten to play the new 20th anniversary shiva yet? if so, how do you compare it to the standard versions?

Trying to decide between a 20th aniv shiva or a used fuchs tripledrive supreme

  • really good playin'

  • pick ups sound great man. I'm saving up for some. Rock on

  • So much reverb...

  • that epi sounds great! great playing too!

  • Ok this sucks. I can't decide between Bogner(Shiva or Ecasty), Soldano(Decatone), Marshall(JVM 210h), Mesa/Boogie(Stiletto). I have a Vendetta 4.0 Floyd(I put a schaller OFR and took out the licensed) pickups are Dimarzio Steve's Special and Air Norton. In a hard rock band, been using a solid state now I got some serious money. Any suggestions?

  • how mutch for those blak dogs?

    great sound

  • Those Black Dog pickups made a great difference from the stock epi les paul ones?

  • It sounds good but what a shame to fit these great pickups on an Epi.

If a Gibson is too expensive then choose an Edwards or an Agile. These guitars are much better than an Epi at almost the same price and feature the same woods as Gibsons.

The nice playing you have would immediately give you a better sound again.

  • @jp6l6

Agiles are basically the same. The difference in quality is pretty negligible. I agree with you on the Edwards though.

  • hey men those pick ups seem realy nice, how mutch for the pair? thanks

  • 190 for a pair

  • Bogner Shiva is so fucking great sounding both clean and overdriven...

  • very good playing mate, and nice guitar set up!

  • that was seriously amazing. sounded really close.

  • well ... not even close I would think, Jimmy still is a different league, but hey, yeah not so bad :O)

Missing my Shiva ... guess I should get another one!!

  • @jaeger28

Timing was off here and there ("pocket"), but really, it's not bad. I, for one, prefer improvisation over note-for-note copycat attempts, so never fear the improv:D Oh, and did you ever play that Epi when it was stock, and if so, what did you think of it? (This Strat guy needs to diversify pretty soon:))

  • hey, that was great!

  • Nice tone. Nice playing. Very tasteful - great control on those bends too. I used to own an Epi LP standard - one of the best playing guitar I've owned. Wish I kept it, but now I build my own (a stock '57 Strat and '52 Tele). Nice sound, nice tone, and great control of those bends - very tasteful...

  • Tone is sick. nice set up

  • I've heard the mp3 version of this and its much better!

Who cares what guitar its on, I judge a player based upon the notes that come from his fingers.

  • blah blah blah, my guitar is better. blah blah blah. who gives a fuck?

  • exactley a guy in my class keeps winning about: my guitar is better and expensiver then yours and he plays the guitar bad :S im happy with my guitar it sounds good and its plays good thats the most important thing :-)

  • LOL...I have the biggest POS on the planet, it's a Peavey, I swear it's made out of particle board...but when I play it, people shut up real quick.

  • oh yeah and i play much better then him that guy in my class XD

  • yea i use a warmoth les paul, that i did all the work myself on, finishing, wiring etc, its better than a Gibson les paul, and was only a third of the price, hopefully ill get a camera soon so i can make some videos of it

  • How are the Black Dog humbuckers to you?

  • I hear lots of complaining, but the truth is that a real player can pick up a totally shit guitar and make it sound amazing! Tone and most importantly, phrasing is in the fingers. That being said, when the issue comes down to money vs quality then Carvin gets my vote! But I've made some amazing sounds w/ EPI's and Gibsons even though it's true that they are inferior guitars when compared to past models.

  • I would agree with you to the extent that Gibson are resting on their reputation and releasing shite at this point...money spent doesn't always equal quality received. But I have a gibson that is about 25 years old and the thing plays amazingly...blows modern Gibsons away.

  • it does depend these days which guitar of gibson you take, i have a les paul standard faded and it's better than some normal standards from around now and mine plays like butter too!

  • Great job!!

  • hey man, great job! great gear too.

  • EL34 or 6L6 version?

  • EL34

    what else :o)

  • Such big difference between them?

  • Wow! Great Tone!

  • phrasing and timing are absolutely abysmal, but its a great sounding amp for sure.definitely work on your timing dude.

  • good played, but if u had bought shiva, buy and GIBSON LP STANDARD used for 1500$ and ur ready to rock

  • Completely agree. There is only so far you can go with an Epiphone. You buy a Gibson and how much easier it is to play and bend to tone, and keep in tune...it leaves you with a greater mental capacity to be inventive with your improvisation.

  • bollocks

  • Bullshit. I've played a handful of Epiphones that sound amazing. You don't know wtf you're talking about chief.

  • Played an epiphone Les Paul custom for 4 years...just recently got a Gibson LP classic and yes...there is a significant difference.

  • ooooooo i think i like bareknuckle pickups!! nice playing man!

  • Your pickups have gloves? And knuckles?

  • what?

  • Blows me away a guy in his 20's just made this up one day

  • But you need more practice, my friend

  • great guitar, epi like mine

  • Lets see you come here watch his video and that's all you've got to say is he's gay for putting on a zep shirt, no coments on his playing or the great tone just he's gay. What are you like 12?

  • haha nah it was good.if it wasnt i wouldve said it wasnt.i was jw.

  • tone is pretty close to Led Zeps...How much of that is down to Black Dogs though?

  • This is TONE! And great playing, wow!

  • Duncan pups I suppose?Sh1 and sh4?Or am i wrong!Wild guess!

  • Bare Knuckle Pickups, and the model is called Black Dog, so guess whose sound they are meant to emulate :O)

  • @jaeger28 How are these pickups for clean sounds?

  • I'm glad I saw this video it changed my mined as I was just about to buy a carr amp. The tone you get on this is spot on great job. I live in Canada and have just found a dealer in Toronto witch is not far from me so I'm going to grab the LP and test drive one of these bad boys. Look for a video soon.

  • Are you using it in the bridge? Your tone is perfect!!!

  • epi's are so good, love my les paul custom!

  • you picked the black dog over the mules?!

  • Nice! The Shiva does this SOOO much better than the Einstein. The shiva has the voice of God in it.

  • wow man...you did a really good job on this tune! great sound...nice too see you're rockin an Epi!!

  • THE tone.

  • I have that exact same guitar (except lefty), I've never seen anothter in that finish. how much were the pickups?

  • I have that exact same guitar (except lefty), I've never seen anothter in that finish. how much were the pickups?

  • hahah i see a prs gigbag

  • yeah man, it's really really good! I use it for all my guitars, as I carry head and FX in both hands when going to rehearsal, so the stable backpack comes in rather handy.

  • Just a standard Epi which cost 500 new. Secret is in the pickups, the amp ... and the fingers ;O)

  • nice shirt, nice taste in music, nice guitar, nice amp, and nice playing

  • those pickups are badass

  • sweet!

  • Man, That was fantastic, Keep up the good work. Now I need to go learn that song (but it won't sound nearly as good when i play it)

  • Holy hell, i wish i could play like that. You're amazing!

  • Hey - I've got the Shiva as well. Is yours the EL34 version or the 6L6? Can you tell me how you have it set on this tune?

  • Great playing man! I have the Shiva, LOVE IT.

Are you hitting a OD there, or is that the Boost?

  • Thanks man. It's just the internal boost. Meanwhile I am using an RC Booster from time to time.

  • Hi Mr Jaeger28!!!

    Nice tone and playing dude!!!

    I enjoy watching your videos...

The shiva is really a killer amp...

    Nice job!!!

  • Killer man great job

  • I wonder why guitar center doesn't carry Bogner. Marshall would probably be very much opposed, who they buy lots of stuff from. I want to test drive one of those suckers, but I can't even find one, haha.

  • you must be professional. everything is ok!

  • Thanks man, but I am no pro. I'm just a Jimmy Page fan.

  • Now that done the song proud. Awsome tone, feel and phrasing. Of course this is one of the nices Zep songs too, at least a favorite of mine.
