Did you even watch the final product before you posted this...? It always amazes me when even really great players, or someone with something actually worth learning from post crap like this video. Crap, because the attention to your camera angle...what your audience is actually seeing, is...well, crap. Now the content may be like sitting down with the ghost of Jimmy Hendrix, but when your camera skills are this bad, why bother. Of course some people like looking at the back of a hand...
hahahaah wow man, I"ve been looking up different people on youtube, and came across your music,
its 1:40 AM and wow man, I really think after watching this video i've gotta go to bed, this is pure comedy.
But don't really look at it as a bad thing, You're just using the instrument to your advantage. Guitars are made for different tunings, and for the life of me, can't understand why people stay in Standard all the bloody time :)
@Tript OOhhh Pick me!! I can solve the mystery for you!!! People keep E tuning because they don't want to have to change tuning in the middle of a set (or bring multiple guitars to a show). If the guitar player brings 2 guitars, the bass player has to have a 2nd or annoy the crowd by retuning. But the biggest reason is because you can spend your whole life trying to master the guitar. Altering the tuning means you have to relearn basic chord and scale structures. It's counterproductive.
there are manu ways to get an open C.you dont have to tune your E string that low.I use EGCGCE. its actually 2 seperate open c chords in 2 different octaves.
TKS! As for camera angle, I found it easy to 'catch-on' with a shot from above the player's left hand; this would be the same view you would see of your own hand. Kinda an 'over-the-shoulder' view. For me anyway:)
vERY Cool Shaun. You've inspired me and my band mates to write some pretty cool stuff. Lu Rubino Rubino from the positive alternarive(christian) band Story Side B also write in alternative tunings usually DADGAD but he'd love this stuff. I'll pass it on!
wow dude; Ive been stuck in standard tuning for 10 years and never dared to retune in an alternate tuning; its helped me out so much: I can now access chords and tones Ive never had the "gymnastics" to do. Awesome tutorial; SAVED
WOW! thanks for the idea shaun....im left handed but i never flip my strings so the Bass E A and D are still in their position only i played them upside down...and this tuning kinda makes me play guitar easily.
hahaha HELLO move the laptop

So, do you go tune your guitar from Standard tuning up to those notes or down?
emoshenko 1 year ago
@emoshenko If your string breaks going up, then its most likely tuned down.

Haha! I like the dude in the background! When Shaun Groves turns side ways, he waves at the camera. :DDDD
I will try this tuning sometime! Sounds interesting! I don't care if Shaun Groves isn't a good guitar player, he's still a cool guy!!! :)

wow...yeah it's too bad you can just move your body over 2 inches to the right to actually let us see your fingers...
