Jo Stafford always considered herself a 'group' singer first and she could harmonise perfectly...Gordon McRae was no slouch either when it came harmonising.
I'm a fan of both of these singers and knew they sang some great duets. But this one escaped me somehow, much to my regret. I think this is their best.
They were a perfectly matched duo... Jo Stafford was always a great 'group' singer with her perfect tone and blended perfectly with Gordon's fine tenor voice...
This song was popular in 1925. A friend of mine sang this song 30 years later and that is how I became familiar with it. Maybe it was influenced by Rudolph Valentino who died a year later.
She had the most beautiful voice ever in popular music. She was the real First Lady of Song.

What a beautiful song! They do it so well. Such grace and charm and ease.
Is this from an LP or CD? Is it available?

Actually Gordon was a baritone but your right in that he had several 'voices' -one of which included much of the tenor range.
