According to wiki, anarchy means "without ruler" (singular) and anarchism means "without rulers" (plural).

I think a *single* ruler (individual highest authority) as no place in a true democracy.

But also there's no point to democracy if a democratic society has no way to uphold the agreements that the members of that society democratically agree on.

In order to uphold those agreements the society needs an authority which the society accepts as arbitor in case of disagreement regarding violations of agreements. It's just that this arbitor should not be a single individual or a small number individuals, but rather should be an assembly of elected representatives.

No matter how one calls it, i think the solution to abuse of power is a system of authority with the least possible hierarchy required for the system to work.

The point is we understand that we infact don't need *any* authority or law disorder and chaos. Having no law would of course mean lawlessness.. but think, does any law actually stop a crime being committed? if you are murdered, what good is calling the police? sure the person gets put in jail so they can't commit more murders(not that it'll stop them when they get out, or while they're in prison) but in the end, you still got killed!

Certainly providing people with what they *need* would reduce stealing, but the biggest thieves are not people in need, rather they are people who for some reason never have enough and always want more (ie Billionaires). Providing those people with what they need will not reduce their stealing.

I love the way it would be a social revolution, but some make it out like some collapse of the world as we know it and building the new one from the ashes.

It'd be the same, except without any form of heirarchy, or any product of that. People make it out like it'll be a period of black skys under constant street battles. But really it might probably happen in a week totally peacefully. It would win when the state/god finds that it's obselete.
