This is one of the most underrated RE titles of its time. To be honest every hardcore fan I ask has unconditional love for this game and I some how love it as well. It is actually a great game if you give it a chance, the storyline is good and since it was the first, first person arcade shooter for RE it was a good and was amazing back in its days especially playing with the ps1 lightguns. Kids these day dont understand what a good game is unless it says "call of duty" in the title.

@REUC96 No, it's free roam to a point. It lets you choose you're own path and apart from the scripted events, you are in full control of the character at all times. You control where they are, where they run, where they aim, where they shoot, etc..
As for the inventory/item chest, that's accessed directly from the Start Menu. This was originally an arcade shooter back in Japan so there are no save points and the only inventory management you have is from the pause menu.
@charringta If there is a psx-mouse plugin for epsxe then yes. I'm pretty sure there is a plugin for that since I remember a few games I have like Clock Tower supported mouse controls since it was a point-and-click game...
The Japanesse version and the PAL version have the light gun feature. The light gun feature was removed in the US version due to the then-recent Columbine High School Shooting.
Yeah but make sure that your PSone/PS2 is able to play PAL games, you may also look at buying Resident Evil: Dead Aim on PS2 which is a sequel to Survivor that also uses the light gun feature! theres lots of fun to be had!!!
Look at ur current PS2 games, NTSC=US and Canada, NTSC-J= Japanese, PAL=Europe and Australia. u'll need to get ur PS2 modchiped to beable to play games from all regions.
Resident Evil Dead Aim can also be played with a USB Mouse and a controller. You can play with the left hand on the controller and the right hand on the mouse. You can go into aiming mode using the L Trigger and then move the cursor with the mouse and fire by clicking. It's pretty neat and makes it easy to play. You can get those hard-to-get head shots with ease.
i loved this game simply because you could get infected i remember playing it when i was like 5 this and silent hill gave me nightmares for a long while lol.
Well the Tyrant in this game (known as the Hypnos Tyrant, or just simply Hypnos) was different from the previous Tyrants in Resident Evil 1, 2, or 3. According to the game's files and game play, Hypnos was a prototype tyrant to the T-102's.
The T-102's are the green trench coat wearing tyrants that frequent the game in the later stages. You'd think that since these are more advanced, that they would be stronger. But alas, that doesn't seem to be the case...
does it work with also with gcon45 or only with joystick?

Yes but the US version of this game has the light gun feature removed, The PC version lets you use the mouse insted.

Look, Just get the American version if u have to. it isnt really bad without the gun, if u use the anlog stick it makes aiming alot easier
