  • I've grown up in the woods and to this day i still have not seen a bear in the wild. I've seen all sorts of others.

  • I think he smelled human. When he goes closer and closer the "stench" got stronger...So he knew, that there are people somewhere nearby (hiding in the grass or behind that tree) so he decided to walk away. Inteligent one - smells human - knowing they are near - better walks away and not pushing his luck (to encounter those killer humans).

  • dam just shoot the dam thing already. lols

  • Awesome....that is what a call hunting...

  • WOW...NERVES OF STEEL.....REALLY COOL SAYS DON FROM NOVA SCOTIA

  • Ho oui TRES TRES belle 'chasse' merci !! vous etes un tres bon chasseur

  • Props for not shooting the bear, that was really close!

  • Thanks for not killing him like so many others would have :)

  • at last a hunter who shows respect for animals. i am amazed it was a american who was the hunter as they do have a tendency to just shoot anything and not kill it.

  • Trip to Alberta: 1250$

    Foods and other things: 200$

    Set up for camp: 900$

One of this moments in face of the nature: This is price less

I like it because you not one of the people who like ''The art of killing for pleasur''

    Thanks for this vid!

  • he could smell your cheese crackers

  • Man ... I just think I broke the world record for holding my breath watching that video , that must have been the longest 4 minutes of your life , well done you 2

  • i thought you were hunting the bear ...

  • Great maturity and composer! Most would have been freaked and inadvertently or purposely shot the bear when the bear hadn't done anything.

  • magic

  • Why is this set to 18+?

  • All of you haters are just too fat and lazy to get off of your fat ass's and go experience something like that.....SHUT THE FUCK UP unless youve been there. He didnt shoot it....it was well within his right to but he didnt so shut the fuck up you fuckin idiots THATS Alberta. Beautifull shot of the bear dude bravo.

  • I would love to see a bear knocking your head of while you stare with your dumb face at the camera. Really i will pray , fuck i'll even try voodoo just to make one day a bear will kill you.

  • @maauwieprrprr That comment was just really stupid. Do you know what hunting provides from humanity? Yes people do it as a hobby, so what?

  • @kakburkmedlingon Hunt chickens ! soon this beautiful animal wil be extincted if dumb asses keep hunting it.And what does a bear provide, i know nobody who ever in his life used a product that comes from a bear.

  • @maauwieprrprr Did you know that when an animal is threatened to get extinct, the hunters stop hunting that animal? I knew that you didn't, because you are from some blind-ass country, thinking that every bear is cuddly, friendly or just unharmful. They can do lots of damage to society. They are not even close to extinction( 341,200 in canada and growing). If you don't know anyone who uses something from a bear as product, you sure don't know many people. Cant write more but plz, look up facts!!

  • @kakburkmedlingon No i don't see a bear as a harmless cuddly animal, i think you are the one who is blind.

I see a bear as a beautiful strong animal with no natural enemy's besides some idiot with a rifle . Any child can pull a trigger. And even if hunters are so concerned with nature why bragging on you tube about it.And its not because youre country is a litlle bigger then mine you have to behave like someone big or important, you know nothing about the people of my country.

  • @maauwieprrprr You sound exactly like a p.e.t.a member, jibbering about that "bears isn't dangerous. They are strong but can't harm anyone." As i said in my previous post, PLEASE look up facts! also, i do not believe this hunter is bragging about having a bear so close to himself. I would also put up this kind of footage if i had some, since it looks quite thrilling. you wrote that i act "big or important", please tell me how you mean. The only thing i said was that you seem very simpleminded.

  • It's just a baby.

  • lol

  • Great video. We are all hunters by instinct (like it or not, it is true). the vast majority of hunters eat what they kill. Black bear meat is very tasty. Being brave or macho has absolutely nothing to do with hunting.

  • Not gonna lie... I giggled at the thought of another bear attacking them from behind. :p

I like the vid guys! If that was me I would have crap myself really badly. Good job being uber brave and staying calm!

  • Must have been very tempting to pull the trigger!!! Good for you for showing restraint. Very cool vid!

  • Ha ha, I do believe you came across the dumbest bear alive! He's lucky you weren't hunting bear!

  • Молодцы мальчишки я бы наверное не выдержал так долго. У Вас они что там ручные или нюх потеряли.

  • @35Andron

I know exactly what you're talking about. :p

  • @HikeandIke Почему не стреляли, команды не было?

  • surprising a bear is a very bad move

  • camper

  • thank you for sharing, this footage is awesome.

  • cool hand luke!!!

  • Funny how there isn't any insults directed at these hunters just because they are Canadian. If you would have changed the title to 'Bear Encounter United States 2008' there would have been a firestorm of negative comments. Funny how that works isn't it?

  • @Armageddon0mega funny if you bothered to look you'd see their profile says american, so they were american hunters in canada hmm, you seem to be the one with the messed up sense of things. Funny how you were to lazy to check isn't it?

  • @turtleryan It's funny how anyone could logically imply their nationality based off the title. Even though that isn't the case here, you would have still seen insults if the title was changed.

The profile that uploaded the video may not be the hunters shown in the video or maybe only the United State's hunter uploaded it. There are many variables in this situation and the fact that you only took the uploading profile at face value, either means you are lazier or lack proper reasoning skills.

  • @Armageddon0mega also why should there be insults? did they shoot the bear? no. if it got closer his guide would of set of a bear banger or a warning shot. they were probally hunting deer. man you must just think everyone has it out for americans or that hunting is done more in canada or more accepted where no one complains. wtf

  • @turtleryan Nice reply man. Only 7 months late.

Anyway, are you American? If not then your opinion is absolutely worthless when it comes to the amount of bullshit that is levied against us. Before this video, I remember watching a couple other bear encounters--clearly set in the U.S.--where commenters were calling the Americans pussies for NOT shooting a bear and instead backing off. That is probably why I left that comment, and explains my disposition.

  • @Armageddon0mega man you are an idiot "just because they are canadian they dont get complaints" you act like americans have so much hate towards them oh wait... but you are only fueling that by thinking that. anyways seriously learn some shit they werent even hunting the bear you dumbass. also why i ask would these guys be bitched at canadian or not? did they shoot the bear? so just stfu noob.

  • @turtleryan Again, you aren't American, you don't understand. I'm not sure if you have a severe mental deficiency or are just ridiculously stubborn, but you can't say how much hate Americans receive on a daily basis. You do realize that the U.S. government is one of the most hated entities in the world and Americans have some of the most blatantly insulting stereotypes perpetuated constantly. Are we constantly insulted? No, but relative to others; yes.

I never said they were "hunting" the bear.

  • the bear is blind i think...:)) awesome vid..

  • and next weeks episode he will be in south africa pulling the same stunt on a buffalo :D yay....that was awesome one of the best videos I've seen!

  • guys u must have balls from steel ...great vid, i only see a bear that close one time in canada and i nearly shit my pants :)

  • camoflauge really does save lives lol

  • u have some balls to be bear hunting on the ground lol

  • u fucking scare u suck eat ur shit u both better eat each other shit scare don't wait for ur time sucker

  • @lovebreak100 that made no sense, may i ask you a question my friend, are you metally retarded

  • I shat myself just by watching the vid.

  • @MaquillageDesigns HAH yeah because he didnt have a rifle pointed at it the entire time, and black bears aren't scared of people whatsoever, get a clue, yeah this is a cool close encounter, and i aint sayin i wouldnt have been a little shaky but he didnt even come close to death.

  • At 3:20 the guy went all: OH FUCK. Epic.

  • I should have killed it if it went that close. I'd also shit myself

  • Я б усрался :)

  • @Stoff3lof Yeah whatever, Boner breath. Hahahaha

  • Give up hunting and killing. You are on the right track already. Look into your heart and soul and think about what you are doing.

  • @BlackBearsLove its a free contry we hunt if we want...

  • It was a tiny black bear and he's holding a rifle, cool video but all the "he's so brave comments" are lame. Pretty cool to see this, guessing they were deer hunting at the time.

  • @dbill27 Where there is tiny baby black bear, monster big momma bear is sure to be within 50 yards.

  • @thisisdudewhoru it's an adult black bear, he's just young and not very big, there is no mother around.

  • Did anybody see the can of courage in his pocket during the last few seconds of the video? 3:48 mark. Don't confuse bravery for drunk and stupid.

  • @Wad9591 Are you sure it wasn't a can of soda?

  • @honestman43 I'd like to think it was booze that gave him those balls. A can of soda would just make him an idiot

  • you've got titanium balls , id give you that

  • youve got titanium balls , id give you that

  • Could you not shoot it

  • Young bear. He hadnt seen to many people for sure. He just looked curious. Good vid

  • What a wonderful moment in time for you.

That's my fav way to hunt, over the years it's amazing what will walk up on you when the wind is favorable.

  • props bud,,not shooting mr bear.If you had of shot him,id be calling.Respect.Cheers mate.

  • @DrsINNISTER I agree,He is a braver and better man by not killing!

  • I didn't even see the hint of a tremor in the hands holding the gun....lol..what an awesome experience!

  • thats crazy

  • that would take some real guts. I for one would be shitting myself... i think the bear was just curious of what the gun was.

  • that was pretty cool

  • what an awesome hunt... its moments like that, that make all the waiting worth it...

  • Wow. you have such courage and control. Well done!

  • what were you hunting that day

  • cheers man, i look up to u for not shooting him.

  • Wow! Respect

  • Это охота? Не понимаю в чём прикол.

Я бы не упустил такой трофей.

  • I would of shot him without thinking. That would scared me. The closest I've gotten to a bear is when I was walking on a trail in flordia. He was in tree and I just ran without thinking. And I also saw one hunting

  • DUDE!!!!! that close and u still didnt shoot him!!! OMFG

  • Best vid on utoob mate.

  • I think keeping control here is easy. Ive seen several black bear in the woods and I was never scared. Give them room and respect. They ussually run away when the see you.

That bear is a young one and will be courious also. Very cool video !!

  • @bryanbish2000

looks like he didnt have much room to give the bear lol

  • I honestly think i may have shat myself if i was in your position... Awesome video!!

  • Glad you kept your cool. Black bear are just curious.

  • @Lonewolfff36 Black bear have killed and maimed dozens of humans in the last century in the U.S. I have them right in my woods a few hundred yards from my home.

  • @3Mudbone1 Likely provoked, starving or protecting a Cub but thanks tips.I'm from northern Canada where it's not uncommon to see Bears in the yard. They almost always take off at the site of a human. Not once have I even heard of anyone up here having a problem with a bear,in the yard or out in the sticks. It's possible that American Bears are learning from the violence that fills American culture, maybe u guys & gals down there should learn to get along & just relax, maybe the Bears will ease up.EH?

  • @Lonewolfff36 PLEASE stay in Canada wuth the rest of the brainless cowards!

  • @3Mudbone1 Oh biiiig suprise, another guy talkin' shit over the computer. Takes a big set for that you dumb fuck. You spell with "wuth" and call us brainless? I dont have a problem with Americans but I do have a problem with ignorant assholes like yourself contributing to the Yankee stereotype.STFU.

  • This guy is tougher than hell

  • That was nuts! I caught myself holding my breath along with you guys. Honestly one of the best videos on youtube.

  • Amazing!...you must have full metal jacketed balls.

  • @vrijegeest82 You stupid fucking cunt.

  • @vrijegeest82 you know what makes me sad? You do you ignorant hamsterdick. You don't have a clue as to how you got here. You are here because your predecessors had the brains and guts to hunt and fish and explore the planet with courage. The guys like you were left at home to help the women gather vegetables and tend the fire.

  • Mr caveman:ts good news tht u find the energy to response on my txt. I tottaly agree with "exploring the planet. I love nature untill the fullest nd I hunt my self when food is needed but i dont hunt for plessure, my training comes from real practice. Its not my intension to get u all fired up, I just want to make people aware of surten things in life cause this is not nessesary. 2 confirm: yes I gather vegatables, yes I help @ home, yes I help tend the fire nd yes I haunt when needed.evolution

  • too bad you weren't hunting bear! that would have made things easy

  • too bad you weren't hunting bear! that would have made things easy

  • You have bigger balls than me bro. Great control!

  • Now that is a man! Thank you for not shooting the bear. It obviously was't aggressive and deserves to be let be

  • Oh ho ho.. man. Good nerves bro.

  • Agree ! - Most guys would be shaking, even with a rifle on hand.

  • I expected a kill.

Im surprised in a positive sense.

Next time give it a kiss on its nose ;)

  • @Tomahawk7670 fyi, I'm a wildlife biologist who works with endangered species and deforestation issues. And you're an uneducated fool who if he had power would be as self rightous as Hitler. Hunters and fishermen/women are the true conservationists; this has been proven by the success of game management and conservation. Native Americans would read your comments and shake their head in disbelief at the alienation of white man.

  • @Tomahawk7670 go back to your fantasy land of war games.

  • @davidleealford better than kills lives you stupid , crazy and i guess ugly bastard

  • @Tomahawk7670 by your own admission you're ignorant (don't read books?) and consider yourself "resident evil". What you are is a little urban brat who thinks deer is spelled dear. Pathetic. And totally clueless about wildlife.

  • HOLY COJONES!!! YOU ARE ONE COOL COOL CHARACTER. THIS IS UNREAL!

  • Wow you are a rock I don't know how you did it. I would of shoot the bear a long time a go just to preserve my life

  • If you aren't hunting bear, then why shoot a bear if it doesn't attack you? I would have done the same thing. Now if the bear got within 1 foot and was going to attack, then i'd put a bullet in his head.

  • @NooDLES411911

i like to think you would have more sense than to wait for it to be a foot away. one swipe is all it takes.

  • Im from BC just curious about a couple things.

what were you hunting? what size rifle did you have and whereabouts in alberta were you?

You know if you didn't tape it no one would have believed this.

  • @123456789mischief

Moose, just enjoying the other animals.300 win mag.

Sorry - cant tell you the sweet spot. North of GP.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • props to you for not shootin him.... you're a man amongst men !!!!

  • oh my fucking god i would have shot that shit so many times yo it was like 3 feet away my god yo thats fucked upppppp

  • Very sportsman-like, coward.

  • you might as well shoot it if youre that close
