Hi Greg, I need your help please, I do have a LP custom heritage cherry sun burst, custom shop 2009, weight 4,6 kg originally sold with 490R & 498T but upgraded to burst buckers 1 & 2 and bought recently a Super Reverb reissue.

I don't know why but playing clean, sounds ugly, very metallic, I play Darco D9150 custom light gauge nickel wound 11-49.

The pick ups bb1&2 have been changed by a luthier, I'm worried about it.. I really don't understand what is the matter, what do you think ?

Hello. Could you descibe the neck on the 56 reissue? I know it is fatter. I heard someone describe it like a baseball bat. Would you agree w/ that? Sounds like it would be exceptionally hard to play a baseball bat. LOL! I do love this guitar, but am curious about the playability of the neck.

I think it would sound much better with less gain. People invariably seem to use too much on the youtube vids.

Gibson P90s are the best sounding pickups ever made in my opinion.

I was thinking getting a custom but I realized that it is too bright and in the end this fuzzy flaffy tone of a P90 isnt bad at all! really vintage and cult!:P but... What do you think! ?!>>?

Do yourself a favor and go play several guitars with both. If you're a high gain type player, P90s will drive you crazy with the buzz from the cycle hum...but if you're into a sweeter, glassier tone at lower gain settings, P90s can fit the bill. Search "Sean Costello" and have a listen to his guitar tone...he's one of my favorites!
