the game has severe issues...too frequent and long loadings, one messed up story, BAD collision detection, badly scripted sequences, BAAD repeated textures... stupid town missions...who's teh captain?....OH! ITS ME!!!!, and that stupid trial of...fails..long and awful bosses. I will give the game some credit for it's awesome soundtrack, nice-looking polygons and nice level-gimmick ideas..it's just not executed in any good manner.

You know, I had the same trouble, but the answer is because maybe your screen is too large, too small or something else; you need to adjust the screen to make it work or di what I did: Run a game that forces your screen to go to fullscreen, when I opened "Spore", it went automatically to fullscreen as default and when I played the game STH2D again, it could go fullscreen.
