@TheRandomsstudios - Seeing as it's a laptop it will likely have the ability to adjust fan speeds locked. The reason your laptop probably turns off whilst gaming is most likely due to an overheating problem.

@TheRandomsstudios You should open your laptop and blow the dust off your fan with either canned air or blow through a straw. If you can't do it yourself, try to find someone who knows something about it.

@TheRandomsstudios I also have an acer 5738(g) and i had the same problem, have you tried clean the laptop of dust using compressed air yet, spraying through the intake vent. This worked for me so i suggest you try it.

my fans are already at 100% when i opened the program for the first time. My computer shuts down at random when playing high graphic games. All the temps say there good my computer is well ventilated what do i do? It is a brand new computer.

@jhagge2 I had that issue, not it's back again. If you have a laptop, vacuum the side fan or unscrew the bottom. You may be surprised at the amount of dust in there.

i click Advanced ... i click on my chipset and its

IT8721 F at $290 on ISA

i select it and i click on PMW 1 Mode next to it says "smartGuardian" i click it i go to the set to ... my only options are :

ON/OF

softwarecontrolled

ON/OF (again)

smartGuardian

i cant find manual set ? my fanspeed version is 4.45 so which option should i choose ?

okay better question is what is the normal temperature for my PC to be? im running second generation i7 2720 a 6770m amd graphics card. every time i turn on the computer i made it a habit to raise my rpm speed with HP software. but now i just want to know what should the temperature be when gaming battlefield 3 heavy, medium watching an HD movie and idle. i have a notebook cooler blowing cold air and it does its job but it could be better.

Folks if your fans arent showing up then open Configure then click the Fans tab and put a check in the fan box, the CPU fan will be selected already, i had to select Fan5 to get my extra case fan to show up, i dont know if this will work on a laptop if it doesnt show.

nope on laptops if it's blocked, it's really blocked... that tab you talk about is empty on my laptop. Nothing to select there. Been looking for a way around so I can control my fan-speed but so far nothing yet :(
