  • The riddle asnwer of ZERO is incorrect. There is nothing in the riddle statements that sets forth a rule that shorter people WILL NOT shake hands with someone taller. There is a difference between what everybody "wants" and what everybody actually will do in order to satisfy the tall to short handshake. The correct answer, assuming that participants will use both hands when possible, is 17 ... as taller people can shake hands with two shorter people at a time using both hands to shake.
