The only thing I don't get, goku said kid buu blast had power to destroy the earth 10x and this spirit bomb looked weak leaves a small crater they could have at least made it more dramatic. Even vegetas final flash you could see it in space coming out of he earth. Either way I still like dbz :)
Should've just let the bomb hit himself. As I recall, if your heart is pure you can bounce it right off yourself, back at the enemy. Previously seen when Krillin almost killed Gohan with the spirit bomb.

Super Saiyan 3 Goku made short work of Fat Majin Buu, and Super Buu was aware that he was weaker than him too, until he absorbed Gohan. Kid Buu still seemed to be playing with Goku at Super Saiyan 3 level and he tired him out. The Spirit bomb worked on Kid Buu because it uses the life energy of every good character alive at this point to kill him.
@ComradeDG Vegeta seemed to make short work of fat Buu too in the beginning. He was powerful but still learning to fight, which is why his fight with SSJ3 Goku was inconclusive. It was explained by Kibito Kai that with every absorbtion Buu gets stronger but his personality changes. So fat Buu and super Buu were simply less ruthless than kid Buu yet more powerful. This is the cannon even if Akira did poorly retcon it in.

Haha what gets me about Kid Buu and Super Perfect Cell is that they had the chance to avoid death by using Instant Transmission to avoid the blast. Oh well some things are just that way in the DB universethat would make things way too easy I suppose.
@jbiblecarden I think the unofficial explanation is you need to focus on an energy far away to Instant Transmission, and with a huge ass spirit bomb in front of you that's impossible.

By the time Buu saga made it to TV over here in the states I had grown out of my DBZ faze and lost all interest, but I decided to watch the entirety of DB and DBZ last year (DB being my overall favorite) and I have to say, I was impressed. I had decided to watch Buu's in Japanese just to see how different it was, and I have to say, I loved it. A lot of aspects felt like a throwback to good old DB, and it was a lot of fun seeing all the changes and interactions the characters went through.

@UnumCinereum Agreed that whole saga was amazing, Frieza and Cell were my childhood. I didn't watch the whole buu saga back then (I have now) it just didn't interest me like the others for some reason. I still like it, just not as much. Also Teenage Gohan is my favorite.

@ProtossX A SSJ3 take's time to transform into because of the power, he wasen't strong enough to transform right away even at full power. For the secend qustion Vegeta lost because they wanted Goku to kill Buu + Buu put so much strain into holding back the sprite ball that he was tired, so Goku had the power to push it back. @UnumCinereum Agreed that whole saga was amazing, Frieza and Cell were my childhood. I didn't watch the whole buu saga back then (I have now) it just didn't interest me like the others for some reason. I still like it, just not as much. Also Teenage Gohan is my favorite.

@ProtossX A SSJ3 take's time to transform into because of the power, he wasen't strong enough to transform right away even at full power. For the secend qustion Vegeta lost because they wanted Goku to kill Buu + Buu put so much strain into holding back the sprite ball that he was tired, so Goku had the power to push it back. Who know's maybe i'm wrong but this a possibe reasson.

hes a magical being with infinite power he doesn't run out of energy or get tired
also goku has transformed into SSJ3 Instantly before earlier vs super buu he morphed from normal straight into ssj3
also during GT he goes into SSJ3 instantly also
he also morphs in ssj3 instantly against kid buu earlier in the fight
so no it doesn't take time hes done 3+ times before instantly and hes already full power again

Mr.Popo and Tein are the real heros who killed buu, if Mr.popo didnt throw dende off the lookout while buu was killing them and if tein didnt save dende from buus blast they would have never realzed going to namek and using perunga, (well techniqually hercule would have been near kid buu when he was formed on earth cuz dende flew him there.. and goku would have just saved gohan and the others and they would have killed kid buu easily)
