@MrStodern "You know your musical tastes are odd when a standard-sounding rock tune played by one of your favorite bands can only be described as "weird"." - i really wonder what you were trying to say, because this just makes no sense.
@ffdff After reading his comment like 10 times I got what he meant :D He means your musical tastes is odd cause you like a band that makes a normal song sound weird. Took me 3 minutes to formulate that sentence haha.
@NoaOno Just google "Meshuggah attacked by a shark" and click the first result. They recorded a version of this song for a Swedish compilation album of Swedish bands doing covers of other groups. Being the funny guys they are, Meshuggah decided to record a cover of a very obscure band rather than some well-known group, just "for teh lulz."
Sounds werid heaing Meshuggah playing something that sounds like "normal" metal, at the same time it's great. So, basically, this is weird and awesome at the same timr.
judging by the band's intellect and the simplistic song, I would say that they produced this song around one minute before actually playing it live. They dish this shit out for breakfast, while simultaneously beating up scene kids
Meshuggah recorded a song called Attacked By A Shark it's a song from a band thats called Whimzy, from a city nearby Stockholm. They did is as some kind of joke. They were asked by a guy to do a compilation-album with a lot of Swedish bands like Entombed with the theme: new Swedish metalbands covers old Swedish metalbands (Power From The North Sweden Rocks The World EDS).
"Yeah, we recorded a song called Attacked By A Shark. It from a band thats called Whimzy, from a city nearby Stockholm. We did is as some kind of joke. We were asked by a guy to do a compilation-album with a lot of Swedish bands like Entombed with the theme: new Swedish metalbands covers old Swedish metalbands (Power From The North Sweden Rocks The World ). And everybody has bands like Candlemass, Europe, so we thought were gonna dig a little more deeper in the underground. "
wtf! Haake playing a regular beat and Fredrik doing a rock n roll solo!
this MAY be from their goodbye concert when they moved from hometown Umeå to Stockholm . I could be totaly wrong but this is the only time i have heard/read of that they have played covers . They entered the stage in black suits and Jens said "we are gonna play a cover by a stockholm band" And they play Abbas "S.O.S" lol!! .

You know your musical tastes are odd when a standard-sounding rock tune played by one of your favorite bands can only be described as "weird".
Fredrik really sounded like he wanted to veer off into the cosmos during his solo, but somehow managed to avoid it.
