Bravo! Yet another masterful rendition of a neglected genre -- one of my favorites.

What you have done is not easy.

Lovers of this genre know that these melodies thrive on rubato. It confers upon them their characteristic languid sensuality.

Too much rubato however, and they lose their taut shape. They become flabby and bloated. They degenerate into kitsch.

You have clearly mastered the middle ground. I don't see how anyone could have interpreted them any better.
