  • oh my God, i can´t stop crying.. i did not know he passed on... The most beautiful sarod songs i have ever heard were played by him.. RIP

  • @lfsaraivamha I believe he passed away on Sunday, Nov 27th. It was a very sad day, but he had been ill and is free from suffering. May he rest in peace. He has left us with many loving memories.

  • He was such a nice person and with so much talent that it is hard to describe him. Always nice, and composed. His passing away is very sad.

  • RIP

  • RIP Sultan sahab - u were great - sarangi has so much into it - the romance of the violin and still the sadness of an entire orchestral piece.

  • divinity can be so subtle. metaphysical sounds.

  • Singing Sarangi by The Ustad Sultan Khan

  • the sarangi is just superb! the singing is fine too, but a distraction from the main course.

  • really unique and nice

  • simply beautifull,wt a style.

  • I THINK THIS IS RAAG TILAK KAMOD....

  • SO....BEAUTIFUL...KEYA BATT, WAH!! I AM LOVING IT..THANK YOU FOR THIS LOVELY VIDEO.

  • Nice posting Dear.

  • The voice is really steady as well as melodious. his 'tearao' is so wonderful and i am thinking, those who run after 'harkat' and 'murki' , they are not sensible.

  • @pugul95guglu95music i liked your comment.thhehrao mostly comes with maturity and age.

  • @arifkhan100 could you please decribe the meaning of tearao, harkat and murki? I can only imagine tearao is the sublime effect produced by his melodic microtonal changes, but I am a Canadian with limited knowledge of sanskritic languages. I have searched for definitions but am unable to find any. Thank you.

  • @arifkhan100 What is Tearao?

  • @klacsanzky77 theher ke gana simply means to sing in a unhurried manner. without rushing and taking ones time in savouring the moment of every note and using ones voice with a degree of stability and stressing at all the right places for affect. harkat by comparison is swiftness which too can be useful and enjoyable at times to create a different affect, especially for a youthful renditions. to bring thhehrao in your manner of singing isn't always easy and comes with maturity and knowledge.

  • Yes Turtle is right

  • tHIS IS sIMPLEY AMAZING,, IT REALY GETS YOU CLOSER TO WHAT YOU WANT TO,, THANKS FOR POSTING,THE TWO LEGEND

  • fantastic music. it is really unfortunate that media does not promote such art. really unfortunate those who do not have access to such music.

  • This is not Desh, people. This is Tilak Kamod, with the characteristic n S R G S R P M G S R G S n...! It's close to Desh, but the emphasis on G, gandharva, is more Tilak Kamod. If it were Desh, R would be a bigger note!

  • @krishnapartha

what online sources would you recommend that I learn the principals, terms and scales of Indian music ?

any help at all would be very appreciated ~

    thank you

  • @dusteroo - There are many just type raga or hindustani classical music. However, the best way is to learn it from a person who knows.

  • @dusteroo

try to visit the website of itcsra.org/sra_index/sra_index.asp

you would get a working understanding of Hindustani (North Indian) Classical

    Enjoy...hope it helps

  • Excellent. This should be Raag Desh. This is not Maand definitly

  • Correct me on this, is this not Raag Maand?

  • Yes it is This is Raag Mand

  • this is raag desh as far as i can tell

  • @gvtunes This is not Desh! This is Tilak Kamod, a cousin of Desh!

  • so much stillness.......such finesse in voice.......such meloncholic melody.....why only ......why only....... we indians run after Brits, Timberlake, Beyonce.......can't we hear this...right here.....Are we so so shallow...so so lost.........3,330 views.....it speaks volumes of the skirt chasers!!!

  • So True

  • i cannot agree more...but to be honest i dont care if this got 3,300 views or 1 million views...what matters to me is that this music brings me closer to myslef...its every note is like a step closer to heaven...we r the few lucky ones who can listen and appreciate this music...

  • well said.! also, can i suggest you listen to this AND 'sound of rain w/o music' at the same time? pretend you are on a verenda on a comfy chair, put headphones on,turn the lights off, close your eyes.i know it sounds mad,but this is exactly what i am doing while i am typing this.trust me,you will not regeret it.enjoy! ps.adjust volume(s) as neccesary.
