Scott Smith is one of these fighters who has very average MMA skills at best. He can't take punches, at least not from decent fighters with good striking, and he just relies on power punches, hoping he'll catch them eventually. I see how he lost, he kept ducking under the right cross, over and over again. The other guy understood the pattern and faked a right punch and did a perfect left hook right at his jaw, that put him down. The rest was to finish him off, it's a problem with cung le's technique and if he doesn't correct it, it would happen again. Usually, I just block the right cross and strike at the same time, he needs to mix it up or his pattern will be exploited.
That left hook was sweet. Why did it take him so long to set that up? I hope Smith looks better in the rematch, but Le is going to be in way better shape this time around too.

Very very undiserved and lucky win. Ref should have let it go, Le was still in a position where he could survive. Ref didn't stop it in round 1 while Le was landing 20 unanswered hamerfists and powerpunches from up posture.

I see how he lost, he kept ducking under the right cross, over and over again. The other guy understood the pattern and faked a right punch and did a perfect left hook right at his jaw, that put him down. The rest was to finish him off, it's a problem with cung le's technique and if he doesn't correct it, it would happen again. Usually, I just block the right cross and strike at the same time, he needs to mix it up or his pattern will be exploited.

cung le needs to quit mma, he's obviously is too old here already...he lost here simply due to lack of stamina and energy. he couldn't even move when scott start throwing punches at him, ridiculous. Plus scott's also a bigger person too.
If he was 30 and not 37, he would have easily kill scott with ease.

cung le got tko thats it and he probably will beat scott smith him in the rematch, but in this fight he just got caught, and cung le fought like he always does in his fights in this match. and earlier when cung le was ground and pounding scott smith it did look like he was holding back a bit but if you were allowed to use elbows and forearms to to the head of a grounded opponent in strikeforce then it would have been better and he would have been able to finish him.
