well, no, actually, i'm a big weird al fan. this is basically a "Meta-parody": i'm making fun of the whole thing: 1)that weird al makes fun of popular songs 2)that heis regarded as above parody himself 3) that he often gets away with extremely violent images, particularly against animals (throwing poodles out the window, killing his girlfriend's pet fish, etc.) (although they may sometimes be purposefully satirical 4) that he sang about not-downloading songs, so i downloaded his song and used it

he's super-talented, but he has taken on a mantle of being a "mensch", an unassailable "nice-guy", while making his reputation by being mean (see every album from right up through Canadian Idiot) he's funny because he's silly and clever, but also because he has an edge (he's mean) it's part of these guys make-up: they have to tell jokes about "Reindeer being made into sausage" and crazy-gluing animals to the wall to see them squirm, but it's "mean" to make fun of them... weird, huh?

You bring up a good point, but his still had more of a joke to it whereas your's was a LOT harder to tell if you were serious or not--I don't know, maybe just spend a little longer working on the lyrics so that it doesn't come across as bad. Also Al has his reputation where whatever he does is known to be in all fun--whereas this is probably your first song ever so no one knows if you meant it in all fun. :) Hope that makes sense.
