@tayyabprensent2 I don't blame him for going on holiday, since he didn't know about this in advance. However, I agree that he should have come back sooner.
@iloverich2 His on a bus lol he went through the bus lane haha he gonna get arrested! Nah its a cycle it does make you think of roller blades though haha
Cameron & Police said they brought riots to end, truth is death of 3 people in Birmingham brought riots to end. There will be more riots at any moment, Police must shoot the rioters in the leg. Media give oxygen to rioters, keep media away .
@englandmustburn I like the Bible quote (Proverbs 2:21-22). However, I'm not so keen on your username. I don't want England to burn; we've already had too much of that.
@MsViewer131 Thanks for your questions, but please be patient; I've been out all afternoon, so I couldn't reply immediately.
I haven't contacted the police about this directly, but I emailed GB Cycles as soon as I uploaded this video, offering them a copy of the original (bigger) version. They replied today, requesting that, so I'll give it to them and they'll pass it on to the police.
@MsViewer131 If you read my blog post (see link in video description), that explains why I uploaded the video; basically, I thought that other people would be interested to see what's going on. Most of my videos have seen seen about 300 times (after a few months), so I never expected this to get watched thousands of times every day. Ie I wasn't looking for "hype".
@MsViewer131 I don't blame the police at all; I understand that they were in a difficult situation. Even if they had arrested that guy, they'd have to take him to the police station, and then the shop would still have a big hole in the door while they were gone. My point was to show how brazen the thief was. Similarly, I later saw lots of people casually walking past my flat carrying TV boxes, ie they weren't worried about anyone stopping them.
@MsViewer131 The police car didn't have its siren on; I think you're confusing that with the shop's burglar alarm. (The car didn't have blue lights flashing.) Also, it was originally stationary, and only moved off as I approached. I didn't flag them down, although i considered it. I assumed that they already knew about this, and that they were on the move to deal with something more important. I could hear the alarm before I reached traffic lights, so I assume they could hear it too.
@JohnCKirk So if you 'assumed they were off to deal with somehting more important' why post the vid with the subjective intro?
You were out for mischief. In my opinion it is as damaging to society to diss people going about their work (whose motives or business you are only guessing about) as it is to loot.
At Reeves Cnr their duty was to ensure it was clear for Fire Svcs; there's whingeing about how long it took to reach the spot and even asking people to google the distance. For why?
@MsViewer131 As I said (here and blog), "I don't blame the police". Believe me or don't, but I'm not going to argue with you. You've had your say, and I'll delete any more comments. I wasn't "out for mischief", I was just cycling home from work, the same thing I do every day. I also didn't ask about Google maps: that was someone else.
Most people wouldn't rob a shop if they could see a police car nearby. However, they behaved differently (worse) on Monday, and I think that's worth recording.
@MsViewer131 I agree with you about the 2 cars you mentioned. I've reported some cases of bad driving to Roadsafe London (eg yesterday's video about a white van not giving way), but these didn't seem bad enough to justify that.
It's not just riots, you can see the stain of PC destroying the national fabric right to the bottom. In my town we had a Con-Dem council, so useless that the sickening Labour Party got back in in less than a YEAR.
Click my name for my latest video: READING CON-DEM COUNCIL A WARNING BELL FOR WESTMINSTER. You'll see examples of what's now the usual madness condensed into the acid wrecking a town once one of the jewels of Berkshire.
@hcsuarnefeiT Ah, you mean that I was a sex symbol to millions of people in my youth? I can live with that :) Honestly, though, I've never claimed to be a serious filmmaker, and I didn't expect this video to get so many views. I can't actually see what I'm filming, so I just strap the camera to the top of my helmet, hit record, and hope for the best.
@JohnCKirk Please do me a favour and google map the distance from Reeves corner (Roman Way, Croydon) to Croydon fire station (90 Old Town, Croydon, Surrey CR0 1AR) and ask yourself why it took so long for them to put the fire out...there is youtube evidence to show that police were present and aware when the fire broke out, they were watching a bus burn a short distance away..
@JudyFightsBack That's a good quesion, and I am curious about it. I think they said on the news that it was too dangerous for fire crews to approach, but I don't know any details. I'm sure they had a good reason, but it did surprise me.
@Lpoolboy There is being non racist, and then theres just choosing not to see the facts that are written on the wall, a mass multiculteral society in a small island can and will lead to serious conflict and traggic results, how many more deaths have to take place and businesses and lives have to be ruined as a result of this mass project, we have to honestly take a stand for British interests if we want this civilization to remain and not be detroyed dameged or ruined.
@yabitchonmydikk Where are your facts and studies? It's nothing but pure conjecture. As if White youths don't murder or steal or cause anti-social behaviours? Even if there was nothing but 100% white europeans on this island, there would still be a social underclass and there would still be social strife from this. You're shifting the blame for this problem from those deserving it (ie the rich and the politicians) to those who don't (minorities). There's only one race, the human race.
@yabitchonmydikk No, I don't. Not all the rioters were black, and not all black people were taking part in the riots. I also don't want to get into a debate about this: your existing comments can stay, but I'll delete any more along those lines.
The middle class of Western nations sustained by imperialist wealth acted as a yolk to hold back sociological forces, but it's over and the West is now joining the rest of the world and without Western militaries crushing southern poor people this shit is going worldwide and THE PEOPLE WILL BE VICTORIOUS!
@WarmachineVengeance No. Don't give them such credit. Their intellect doesn't cater to such forward thinking. These are just dumbasses trying to get a kick, trying to get free things, experiencing a false sense of power. If you support them, your a fucking dumbass. One crime does not justify the other. @777valetudo are you really trying to play the race card when its happening all over the coutry in places where there are no ethnic minorities - stop being a fucking retard and open your eyes.
I actually felt guilty for not intervening myself but there were several of them and they were bound to have knives on them. I'd help if a person was being attacked but I'm sorry to say I wouldn't risk my life for property. I actually went into Geoffrey Butler's today to tell the owner that I saw them making their getaway and felt rather shamefaced doing so but if the police won't intervene, it's difficult for citizens to do so because we're dealing with the dregs of society and they play dirty.
@AdrianDonaldson I was on my way home from work. I always film my journeys, in case I get hit by a car: that way I've got a "witness" (rather than just my word against theirs) and the police should be able to identify the driver. In this situation, it seemed like a good idea, in case I got into trouble.
i was there in croydon from 9 till about 12 ish and it was crazy man i filmed some but people were getting there camaras taken from them so i was hard to film. i see argos get done then some more in southend croydon. i will attach a video response to this vid.
wow..croydon wont look the same for a while, i feel so sorry for the families and children that had to run from their homes & have lost their businesses!
Ironic that you are cycling. Look at 3:50. Geoffrey Butler's Cycle Shop had just been broken into and several thugs had recently ridden off on their rather expensive new bikes. Cameron needs to get the army on the streets today - it was quite unbelievable to witness what was going on last night (and even stranger that it began in the early evening). I couldn't believe how ineffective and helpless the police were.
@DaveUndertaker That's because somehow you've got your police terrified of doing their jobs. (Not you specifically, not meant personally) First people start a riot because a guy was shot by the police and now the police are being overrun and aren't allowed to shoot anyone. Your police need some handguns and the rioters who charge at police and throw things at them, who set fires, and loot businesses need shot in the arm or leg.
@DaveUndertaker Yes, I noticed that; it's not quite clear in this video, but the guy at 03:35 was riding one bike while wheeling another, and the second bike still had the price tag on it. I did feel guilty about not intervening, but realistically I couldn't guard their shop all night. I emailed GB Cycles with a link to this video, and I've offered them a copy of the original video if they want it.

@fishybob666 More powers for the police announced today 2 days after my comments Water cannon Authorised......stop and search people with masks....that will proberly include fancy dress and cyclists that wear masks for fumes....More to come Curfews maybe for children? .....Not bad for an idiot of the biggest order
Even though I hate the Feds/Police this time I have to support them because it has become just a stealing time for people which makes the devil happy and all upset and grieved.
we cant blame it all on one person, the people causing this are frustrated cuz of the cuts the conservative government made.... they sed it themselves they are "youths" therefore they are finding it hard to find work and the road to education is closing for them with the tuition fee rise, and the ema cuts.... ima youth in croydon but i was one of the lucky ones
@dovesfan1 Exactly! Same here, I struggled, finally took a shit job, studied part-time and saved as much as I could. Eventually got a better job, studied more, got more qualifications, got a better job. That's how life works.
These scum don't want to work or study. They're too busy shooting and knifing thinking they're all gangsta!
@leila1sky - I've just finished a nightshift in Croydon, and witnessed first hand the types of people rioting and looting. Are you telling me that a bunch of 14 and 15 year olds are smashing in to shops and walking out with a TV are doing it because they are frustrated due to goverment cuts?
Some people may be out of work, but does that justify ruining other peoples livelyhoods? THINK before you type.
@BigBadCrazyDave look yeh...i'm not saying its just cuz of that...but its partly that... when people have no alternative they do stuff that they wouldn't do... these are probs people living in poverty. the reason their looting is because they've never really had anything so their taking advantage.. i'm surprised that the police are powerless... you lot killed charles demenezez.... and he was innocent.... i swear rioting is a form of terrorism? :I
@leila1sky - There was no way that the looting kids were living in poverty. You could tell by the clothes they were wearing, but also, if they were living in poverty they would be looting for food, not a pair of trainers. Too many youths reckon that because they haven't got the latest luxury items that they are poor. They have no idea of the meaning.
They themselves develop this attitude that the world is against them... because they've only got a 40 inch TV and not a 60.
@BigBadCrazyDave i get what your saying, and its pathetic that people specially the youths have become so materialistic, but thats the human psyche. people were looting food, didnt you see them with their 10kg bags of basmati rice?i agree that they develop this attitude but question how and why they do? have you seen what the media are feeding them? all of us are effected by this... and of course there's the whole factor of how they were raised.there's no excuse but i'm trying to understand why.
those kids were playin too much playstation GTA ^^

Do get round to responding JCK please as your words :
"Saw a looter blatantly stealing a bike, with a police car nearby."
are untrue.
The Police car was NOT nearby, if it took you 15secs to reach it it must have been at least 25secs away when YOU saw the thief.
Have you submitted your vid to the Police for them to enhance it s image or not?
If I were you I would have been much more concerned about the cars that put you in dangerous situations at 2mins25 and 3mins35.
Your motivation pls?

I'm not sure of the motivation of this video having been uploaded so hope its owner will explain.
Passed the smashed shop window and then a Police car travelling from the other direction about 15secs later.
It is using its siren which means it is on a call.
It turns in to a side road, presumably for a reason.
Did you try to flag them down?
Have you advised them of this video in hopes they can ID the thief or are you hoping the hype it has generated will alert them to it?
Genuine questions.

@KevthePoet There were rumours going round earlier today, which is why the shops closed early (particularly in the Whitgift centre).
