@raincow0316 You may have figured out by now, but they actually didn't break up. Glen Hansard just left to tour with his old band The Frames. He even spoke of the rumor on his twitter saying they hadn't broken up and if they had, he and Marketa would be the first to tell everyone. Meanwhile though, Marketa has a new album coming out soon. It's quite lovely too. Highly recommended!

Marketa Irglova's voice is so quiet and reserved, yet it's filled with the same intense emotion as Glen Hansard's. I love that aspect of her. She's quite powerful. Her songs literally have taken my breathe away. She's so timid looking, but when she gets her hand on that guitar you can see her demeanor change into this confident woman who sings from her soul. I love their sound immensely!

@segjulie They're just used to all this commercial crap and can't appreciate how intimate, beautiful and expressive music can be, even though it doesn't use 100's of sound effects, just acoustic intruments and voices, whatever...people aren't used to personal, sometimes quiet music anymore...they just need this typical crap everyone does, where most "music" is coming from the computer and the lyrics doesn't actually mean anything, or they mean everything without any clear message or topic.

Both are extremely authentic artists and when they sing, it seems to come from deep within, their very souls, if you will. I never understood when I heard about an individual's want to follow a band around the country, or the "groupie" title, however, after seeing the band in my home town, I understood and, admittedly, could follow them easily around the world.
