Just because you THINK your state is the cat's meow doesn't make it so. Get some history behind you, eat a big Midwestern bronco burger steak sandwich and then get back to me. Wisconsin is a nonsense word. It doesn't make any sense. Might as well call your state Fiswocowens. Same thing. No meaning. The reality is this Wisconsin = West Kansas pronounced wrongly and interpreted as some holy grail of territorial meaning and integrity. What a bunch of Midwestern hams and country bumpkins!
This is the begging of a grassroots movement that will save the middle-class...a movement that is not left or right, red or blue, Democarstic or Republican...it is a movement that is "WE THE PEOPLE!"
Will Wisconsin take its position as a world leader in technology, freedom, good government, and morality. Or are we destined to be in competition with third world countries with backward corrupt leaders, and bad healthcare, poverty, racism, crime, and pollution. Thanks Weasel Walker and republican tea baggers.
Workers love yourself and your families, stop worshipping the rich. They only care for lifting your money out of your pocket. When they get the unions, then the average joe will not have a chance. Don't be so stupid and shallow. I know the slick weasel has you thinking he cares about you, believe me he doesn't. We know in Milwaukee County and we told you. He just plays people against each other, and then rewards and selflessly promotes himself. He is an uneducated, unprincipled jackass.
Don't be ignorant. You do not want to take our world backwards republican teabagger sympathizers. You want to be world leaders, or you will be left behind. Constant war and bigotry will not give you security. The nuclear bomb that you will have to use to maintain your bigotry and ignorance will destroy the whole world. All of you cannot get the spaceship to Mars. Wish you could, but you'll have to stay here and be equal with everyone else. Loving is okay, and it is the better way.
The wealthy are not paying for the protection of their property provided currently by the middle class who pay for the courts, state department, military, regulatory agencies. Do not let them divide and conquer us. Come together with a referendum to base our taxes on the protection of property. We have provided a safe place for businesses to grow . Now that they have grown they can pay back those subsidies to make a safe , healthy and prosperous nation, or we can change their tax rate.
With all the socialist propaganda these unions put forward, you'd think they'd give some examples of how state governments had abused teachers and nurses in the past. Why don't they show us those examples? After all, isn't that what unionization is about, keeping the employer from abusing its staff?
Oh, maybe they don't have any such examples of past abuse.
When did your nation become a bunch of whiners!? I read in a history book that US citizens took responsibility for the Great Depression and did not want the government to get involved. Its not the governments fault, its your own damn fault your in this recession.
You Americans are fucking pussies. Do it like the Russians did, lead an armed revolt. It's the only way you'll get the message through your dumb leaders' heads.
"Fine, we like teachers, firemen and police officers. We appreciate them. Does that mean we should pay them $1 million dollars a year? How about $10 million? After all, these are the people who educate our kids, run into burning buildings and take dangerous criminals off our streets! Assuming the answer is no, then apparently we're allowed to discuss government workers' compensation - even though they do important work." -- Ann Coulter
How about supporting the hard working non union Americans! Which the greedy union fucks are screwing. There are more of us than you and we are sick of footing most of the bill for benefits we don't get. This country is going down to shit faster than anyone can save it. By the end of this year the dollar won't be worth a dam thing because the liberal democrats think that the answer is to print more money and throw it at the problem. This mans solution is very reasonable.
Walker needs to offer his resignation. We will not stand for a return to the days of sweat shops, eighty hour work weeks, unsafe working conditions, and unfair wages and benefits. People in private sector jobs should be thankful for unions. By improving pay and benefits, unions have also had an impact on what private sector employers are willing to offer employees. Private sector employers must match or exceed compensation packages offered to public employees in order to get skilled workers.
Teachers care about themselves. If it was for students they wouldn't have walked out of the classes. These union thugs are getting what they deserve. Their benefits are unfair to tax payers.
The unions in Wisconsin just showing their collective Marxist ass. What a bunch crybabies. The taxpayer is suffering, but somehow we all should pay up so they can continue on with these generous compensation packages...the public be damned.
Generic angry and passionate comment that approaches the ideally rational decision making process that directs fiscal policy with didactic passion and righteous fury and a subjective undertone that polarizes factions!!!!!!
@CZroe ugh, double ugh UGH UGH I aint talkin bout playboy...................just kidding. Hey, as long as its spread out, it should be fine. Except when molly doesnt know what she talking about and makes a bad joke.....(see latest video)
@RecyclesometimeAre you serious? They only let ONE SIDE talk. They even edited an interview with the "other side" to make it appear that the opposition was "speechless" when asked a question by that side.
Typical. If people agree with what is being presented, they think it's fair and neutral. It's like the Fox News/MSNBC wars.
I guess the sympathetic music just created itself.
@savgal1211 you're the last person that should be lecturing about intelligence, my dear. You can come back after you learn how grammar and spelling work. You're a prime example that we need better funding in our school system.
So public sector workers who have been sitting on their hands for the last 30 years while most of America's INDUSTRIAL, manufacturing, and now service sector economy has been dismantled and offshored, are starting to get upset. You can't have an economy based on public sector jobs. Everyone can't ride in the wagon. Somebody has to pull it. If the teachers had been TEACHING economics instead of trying to defy its laws, none of this would hAve been necessary.
Whew... It makes me happy to see people fighting in politics, instead of just relying on politicians to take care of everything... Maybe there is still people in this lazy crazy world willing to stand up when they have been wronged...
Unions are probably the most important thing that the working class in america has had. Before unions, there were sweatshops all over america, people had no rights, bosses could do whatever they wanted. unions keep people out of poverty, and they keep the rights of people, over the profits of the wealthy few. Without unions we would go back to a time when big bosses could infringe our freedom of speech. do we really want that?
Doesn't anyone understand that unions discourage businesses from hiring more employees? And because of that, the poor, less qualified people have a harder time finding anywhere to work, and small businesses can't afford the labor. Unions keep the unfortunate in their poverty, and badly hurt the economy as a whole.
As long as the Koch bros pay off the tea baggers this is the best we will get. Politicians like Walker who think they are the king. Who the hell does he think he is? He can be recalled you know....If he had said this during his campaign, would anyone have voted for him other than the brain dead tea partiers? Daughter of a union guy & wife of a union guy. In solidarity with the Wisconsinites!!
this is what happen when a state is full of retards and vote republican and support the tea party movement ...you fuckers in WISCONSIN must ride the the short bus to school for a long time ...people of WISCONSHIT they need a good republican to run their state and their shity lifes ..and please ..free education and healhcare ...not for people of WISCONSIN ..they don t need that shit ..OBAMA IS A COMMI BASTARD AND DON T TRED ON ME ..WINNER.. DOAH .
Walker is a billionaire-bought puppet. And his masters, the Koch bros, inherited their wealth from their daddy, who made a fortune building oil refineries for STALIN. Support hardworking Americans--firefighters, paramedics, teachers, police, etc.--and get the dirty bribe money out of our politics. Solidarity with Wisconsin! Overturn Citizens United! Take America back from the New Aristocracy that is attempting to turn the rest of us into serfs!
@sutircomed If you looked up their history they only went over there because they were denied patents in America because there new refining technique was better than the existing so it was blocked. They also said they did not like the Communist country that is why they came back here. They gave somewhere around 40 to 43,000 to his campaign. How come U leave out that the losing democratic governor got over 200,000 from labor unions that are now protesting.
@sutircomed If it was up to you they would have to give up 50% of their inheritance to the government what a great place to live. Everyone works their entire life to save money only to have the government say well they wont miss it they are DEAD so we will take 50% of it. I believe it was a Democrat that said that from the great state of NY. Dont you want to be able to leave your children and grandchildren something to help them or just give it to the government to piss it away.
@tkcrofamericans -- I was just being seriousl. You'll never have to pay inheritance tax. But keep arguing that the sujper-rich shouildn't pay Inheritance tax as that means you'll have to pay more tax.
@DillonDee1 Yes I would like to be able to leave my house, cars and investments that I already paid taxes on to not be re-taxed just because I am leaving it to my children. How can you tax something just because I am passing it down to my kids what since does that make except that it will give the government more money to just piss away. Everyone on here keeps arguing but no one just says why doesnt the government just stay within its means. I balance my budget u balance yours.
@DillonDee1 you really need to get out of your parents basement and join us in the real world. Most taxpayers work hard for there money and I am not going to be taxed again just because I die that is retarded. All they need to do which everyone stays away from is STOP the F-ING SPENDING!!!! It is that easy no money = no spend cant afford it sorry. Public Unions go first then all government employees are going to have to take a pay cut across the board and give up some benefits. No 15 sick days!
@tkcrofamericans - Our founders, including Jefferson & Franklin, believed people should work hard during their lives & not be looking for handouts & that if a man or woman had lost their spouse & the children had moved away then 100% of their property should go to the US govt
Warren Buffet believes his children shouid accept personal responsibility & not be looking for handouts & said it'd be like him earning a gold medal in the Olympics & then when he died put it on a child's neck
@tkcrofamericans -- how much are you saving each yr? From what you've told me thus far I can't imagine you every having enough so your estate wouid have inheritance tax!
@sutircomed Find out about flash mobs and how they will be used to counter demonstrations staged by unions and progressives in the USA. Join a flash mob, learn how to set one up, and participate in all the 2 million persons marches on the Capital starting in late May. First flash mob will be conducted in NYC on Wall Street in early May. You are one of the first to be notified.
The sheer power of people talking was able to form an unfunded and illegal union in poland that was internally responsible for the defeat of communism and the formation of a new true democratic government.
I don't see what bill does to really hurt people. It hurts unions sure, but not their constituents. Unions became perverted when profit became involved: thats why you constantly hear cases of police brutality being met with "suspension with pay", unions get money for people not fired.
For 30 yrs REPUBLICANS have waged war on American working families. Our economy has been incrementally destroyed& nothing of any significance has been done to improve our infrastucture.SHAME ON REAGAN.More Americans are now destitute while corporations&billionaires enjoy RECORD profits 1/3 of all corporations pay NO TAX while enjoying corporate welfare in the form of TAX PAYER BASED SUBSIDIES.ENOUGH! REPEAL THE REAGAN& BUSH TAX CUTS! DEMAND THAT CORPORATIONS PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE of taxes!
Hah!! That woman scattered her dead dad's ashes among the thugs!? This video is classic comedy and I laugh so hard at this pathetic rag tag beggar thug mob!! Man, dude, I see alot of wastes of good ammo!!
@savgal1211 "Man, dude, I see alot of wastes of good ammo!!" You're an awful and repugnant human being for even saying that. You're condoning murder because you don't agree with people. Think about what you just said, really think about it. You should be ashamed of yourself, lacking the courtesy and decency to hold yourself to some standards before opening your yap in public. I find great irony in your use of the word 'thug' and disappointment at your lack of character.
@savgal1211 Congrats. You completely removed any sort of relevancy you have. I can't think I'm terribly fond of the opinions of people who support tyranny. Now would you kindly go fuck yourself?
@jirris hahahahahahahahaUNion thugs LOSe , see, none of you Libtards have synapses that fire st the magical time, Much more than Room Temp IQ's required, I LOVE it!! Walker is the Man!!
Walker for the Real V.P.The Fat Man can say anything he wants because he is not subject to layoffs, nor does he know anything about the deficit in Wisconsin! He is just one Big Fat Mouth who is one of the biggest detractors from quality education. Get lost Fat Man! Go figure.
It is interesting that not only does the Wisconsin law NOT take collective barganin away from Firefighters, police and troopers, it doesn't actually take it away from any of the other public unions when it comes to wages and bennefits.
It does:
- Cap automatic COLA to inflation unless the entire puplic votes for more
- Make unions responcible for collecting their own dues
- Requires union leaders be elected by the union members, no appointed by union bosses
@sutircomed The only thing sweeping across America is the common sense to install some financial responsibility. Hundreds of liberals were fired in 2010, and if 'bama and his pals don't change what theyre doing, the same things going to happen next election.
Just because private sector people have been be pissed on by corporations and get nothing, doesnt mean the public sector should also get pissed on. Under that logic every person should only make what the lowest paid person on the earth makes.
I live in Wisconsin..teachers salary plus benefits average $89,000 (including 25,000 in benefits per WEAC-teachers union). Average working person in Wisconsin $48,000 including benefits. No summers off, has to contribute 85% if lucky to their 401k retirement, and has shitty health insurance. So what is fair about that... I would love to make that kind of money!
Go back to school. If you already have a BA, it'll only take 2 years of full time course work and 1 year of student teaching before you're qualified to get a teaching job, which will pay far less than your inflated average. And, since you have little seniority, you'll be first to get laid off in the next round of cuts. If you stick it out, work 60 hrs a week, spend a chunk of your salary on supplies, in 10 yrs you'll be doing OK. Maybe.
@DillonDee1 Details please ? How much will come in with the increase on the wealthy. Why won't they just keep spending more than they take in.Nothing has prevented deficits so far.
@Pomiferous -- it looks like maybe 5 Hedge Fund Managers made over $1 Billion Dollars last yr-- they produced no product, hired few people - and yet tthey made more money than the combined salaries of all 60,000 teacheers in Wisconisin plus all the teachers in Nevada, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Mpmtana
For those 5 men to have made more than all those teachers, & yet pay 1/2 the tax rate of most of them is sinful!
@DillonDee1 Obama gave away about 800 billion with the pork pie stimulis pizza. You need to find over 700 more of those hedge fund managers and conviscate every penny they make just to cover Sugar daddy's first couple of months in office.
@DillonDee1 I'm sorry my math was way off.If it takes 5 super hedge fund managers to make 1 billion. You will have to find more than 3500 more of them and tax them at 100 percent just to pay for the stimulis bill.We are not even going to try and calculate how many it will take to pay for the other accumulated debt and interest.
@Pomiferous -- your math is way off...it doesn't take 5 Hedge Fund Managers to make $1 billion...as that's only $200 million in a year...I was talking about the big boys & it takes only 1 of them to make $5 billion
And if you put a tax rate on the top 800 like Eisenhower had it'd be many, many times the billions in cuts they are talking about now.
@DillonDee1 How many of the big boys make 5 billion a year ? All the zeros are getting confusing....Are you suggesting taxing the top 800 incomes with huge increases will produce enough billions to pay off the trillions of debt dollars now owed by the US government.I doubt there are enough billionairs to even make much of a dent,Even if you tax them at 75%.
@Pomiferous - The US gov't no longer lists those who made the most money. but it looks like a # of Hedge Fund Managers made over $1 Billion & one made over $5 Billion last year (this is more'n the GNP of a # of countries)
Barack has complained that they're only paying 15% tax as many in the middle class pay around 35% as an overall tax rate
Eisenhower had a maximum tax rate of 91% on the super-rich
Yes, if we put Ike's rates back in effect they'll go a long way toward solving our debt
@DillonDee1 Mighty generous of you to let the super wealthy keep 9% of thier income.Since the top ten percent of earners already pay about 90 percent of the income tax revenue. With almost 50 % of americans paying no income tax at all. The old rich peoples well may not have enough to keep funding all of DC's spending sprees. The mask seems to be lifting and revealing the down side of massive deficit spending.
Americans 93 % none union and our 7% union work force we must all unite for liveable wages and healthcare. Don’t be spellbound by the talking media heads of the unscrupulous companies and Gov officials who indirectly work for them. And are trying to put a wedge between us None of them are hurting are they. Support only fair trade! And USA products. Lets fill our coffers again. With taxes made by product's made here. Go on line to Made in USA.
Wow - the GOP suddenly doesn't want state works doing jobs like teaching, custodial, heavy machinery operators, making more money than the private sector. Never thought I would see the day when the GOP endorsed SOCIALISM.
@gemandu It not socialism. The GOP reallizes that once you brake the unoin. Those jobs can be privatized and no bid contract can be awarded. Which is in the Wissconsin bill. Right now those public work are a bargein. With avg yeary income of $30K to $40K for a teacher and a $19k retirement. It's almost shameful they get paid so little
At this ponit before it gets dangerous (in this counrty it will) people need to remember this is about money and nothing more rights are a cover. The poorest of Americans are some of the richest in the world. how else can they afford to be away for so long, protesting in the street without pay. I'm not telling anyone how to think just asking that they look at the big picture before taking a side.
As a union member (AFSCME Local 88) I can say that I love that I am protected by my union. That my boss cannot fire me for NO REASON. That there is someone to help defend me. I stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters in Wisconsin and Ohio who are under fire and with working folks all over this nation. Unions are why we have rights as workers at all! Do you enjoy your bathroom breaks? Clean water? Weekends? 40 hour work weeks? No more child labor? Thank a union member!
@moredena Wow what a great reason to be in a Union that u cant be fired for any reason. You must be so proud of yourself and what about weekends is everyone off on the weekend you must not venture out very much. Did you not notice all the stores, restaurants and other companies open on the weekends oh they must not be in a Union better hope they dont join one or where would you eat. No u cant go to the bathroom piss in your pants give me a break and clean water too wow what a great Union LOL.
@tkcrofamericans No, I can be fired it's just not "at will" employment. If my boss doesn't like my shoes she can't fire me. Where I work is open 7 days a week, I just don't have to work there 7 days a week and neither do any of my coworkers. It's too bad you don't really understand how things work but you certainly have a poorly written opinion that doesn't make much sense. Grammar and punctuation? Oh right, maybe you follow Ron Paul and you didn't work enough to actually have an education.
@moredena it is youtube grammer and punctuation are out the window right along with you. I know how things work in what you might call the real world and no not the tv show. It is called work for what you get and get out of my pocket.
@tkcrofamericans Hi there! I'm Moredena's husband. She mentioned you off-handedly, and well, I had to come take a look. Ahahaha. Ahahah. Wow. Look up the Robber Barons of the industrial revolution. Look at labor laws. The reasons for these laws? People got pissed off, got together, and caused a ruckus. Those people were the early unions. Educate yourself, you ignorant boot-licking fool. The people you support would like it if they could pull the crap they used to back in the day.
@jirris I have already said before that there was a time for Unions in the past to protect workers from big corporations but they is no need for them in the public sector why do you need protection from your neighbors since that is who you work for. If a private sector corporation wants a Union I have no problem with that because it is not my tax dollars paying for it. Unions dont help people the way they were intended to in the beginning. First to protect but now they are about POWER!!!
@tkcrofamericans I have to ask -- where do you want your tax dollars going? My further replies will be heavily influenced by your response, so word it carefully :)
@jirris Also you need to learn where the Union dues are actually going. All these special little rallies that have been happening are sponsored by the CPUSA and the AFL-CIO. I do believe that is Communist Party and the CIO in the beginning before it partnered up with the AFL was a communist party organization. Is that what you want America to become a communist country or the new name now is the Progressive Movement. It is all that need to look into not just history but current day.
@tkcrofamericans oh no! Not.. not c-c-communism! Specters of Cold War Paranoia apparently can't be exorcised so easily. Of course the communist party is assisting with this. Duh. Water is wet. Unions and Communism have always been buddies. Your problem exists in thinking 'All Communism = Stalin" which is just silly. I honestly don't have an issue with Communists. They have a place and that place won't be anywhere near running the country, so calm the heck down.
@jirris I dont think all Communism = Stalin but I do believe the government is overstepping its authority into our lives. It is my responsibility to take care of myself, my family and my community not the governments. I know in your Union mentality is just like a Communist mentality that everyone is equal deserves the same pay based on seniority not job performance. Well in the real world you get more pay based on job performance and moving up the ladder.
@jirris Teachers are the hot topic today so we will use them. They all want the same pay just based on years of service along with they know once they are tenured it is almost impossible to be fired that is way too much power. This is where Unions go off-track they want to make everyone the same so that hurts the good because they are bunched in with the bad. Also know that alot of the Unions have joined under the AFL-CIO umbrella they are all going to be attacked. Live Together Die Together.
@tkcrofamericans Furthermore, I find it hilarious that you tell me to look at current day events while you hold aloft the dark threats of _Red Dawn_ being a documentary. Boy, I sure do love guys like you. Free and endless entertainment.
@jirris I am not saying red dawn oh my god. I am saying that the Obama administration along with all his buddies and czars are trying to Change the structure of America. He believes we are not capable of taking care of ourselves and the government needs to step in. We need to get rid of the nanny states that we are creating. Everything the government touches goes bankrupt or keeps sucking our tax dollars dry. Take a ride on Amtrak or maybe send some mail using USPS. Both bankrupt.
@jirris If it was up to me I would start over by planning a budget just like you do in your house but of course this would be on a big scale. You put things in order of importance and adjust your funds accordingly. Unfortunately it is going to have to start at the bottom in this country because our federal government cant stop spending and lives in a bubble that needs to be popped before they destroy our Country. Actually to be accurate i believe it is called a Socialist movement today.
@tkcrofamericans Good work. You regurgitated multiple sound bites rather than showing independent thinking of any sort. You get an 'F' for not actually understanding half the things you are complaining about. I actually don't have a union protecting me, and many jobs I've had in the past had Emergency Procedures for dealing with the possibility of them.
@jirris We all should pay the same percentage so it we all pay 10 to 12 percent then the more you make the more you will pay but it will be an equal percentage. No more IRS and the schools should be ran by local governments not the federal. No more medical for illegals or just plain lazy. I am willing to help the helpless not the useless. If you want to have children then you should plan properly to make sure you can afford it. If you signed a home loan and cant afford it now then you lose it.
@jirris we have bailed out so many people that it is hard to keep track you cant keep boosting up people that dont deserve it. How is anyone supposed to learn from there mistakes when we just give them money for nothing. It is both parties that are at fault for wasting all of our tax dollars on big business bailouts also those companies should have been allowed to fail. It may have hurt at first but someone would step in and buy up the companies.
@tkcrofamericans Secondly and equally importantly -- There is always room for grammar (note the spelling) and punctuation. Lacking the ability to properly put forth your viewpoints in a concise and clear manner makes you sound muddle-headed and dumb. Imagine talking to a person who never paused, never separated their thoughts, and slurred their words on top of it. That's what it's like. It's like talking with a drunk.
@moredena Hey where do i get that 40 hour work week at i will sign up come on Morana wake up and look at the world we live in. I will give you Unions did help all of us at one time in America, but now they are hurting all of us and it is time for them to go. It isnt personal it is reality if there is no money than your benefits go along with your pay do you REALLY need 13 to 15 sick days NO. who in the hell gets that. If i called off 15 days a year along with everyone else our company would DIE
@eightysevencents i support the protesters, but we dont need communism. unions want better conditions in the capitalist system, not full blown revolution.
@Madisonmofo The Public sector unions are the NEW ELITE!! Where else can you retire at 70% pay on the HARD WORKING TAX PAYERS OF AMERICA!!! Bust all unions!! now!! Hey. aren't you upset about Ed Schultz and Randi Rhodes working for non union SAtellite radio!! And they are rolling in the dough!! Where is the solidarity, "Dude"!?
For some strange reason, this made me think of the song "renegade master"...
Anyways, i'm glad to live in a social democracy with a composite economy, strong union rights, and a huge national surplus (over a trillion dollars, in a single digit million population) that guarantees entitlements of all living citizens. Being (rated) the best country to live in for most part of this millenium is not a bad thing either :)
These protestors have gained nation wide support by pretending to be defending a "civil right" to collective bargaining. Ridiculous. I mean these are the same people that "collectively bargained" just to have viagra included as a drug benefit for the teachers in the MTEA last year, costing over $750,000 at the taxpayers expense.. Public unions bargain for more taxpayer money, collect dues from their membership, buy their politicians with it, and come right back to the table demanding more.
What is it you people consider a living wage? These school teachers make more than most of the private sector employees. Some of you people should volunteer in your public schools. You will get a real eye opener. Why should they not pay some of their own retirement and medical benefits? I did and I worked for a large publicly held company. Unions are a necessary evil, but they have too much power. They helped elect Obamanation..that should tell you nincompoops something!
@Toroa28 That figure is for world wide, so it would appear the problem isn't just in america. And again, a single company is negligible in total tax receipts.
We could have this spirit in our country if the left would be willing to stand up and fight like these brave folks are. I'd fight with more than words if I had people to fight alongside me.
Schwarzenegger tried to cut the buget on the back of the unions - and he too couldnt do it - dont piss off the people, if you want to keep your money!!!

TheLogicOfMe 1 year ago
Doesn't anyone understand that unions discourage businesses from hiring more employees? And because of that, the poor, less qualified people have a harder time finding anywhere to work, and small businesses can't afford the labor. Unions keep the unfortunate in their poverty, and badly hurt the economy as a whole.

Hmmm, seems fair to me.

Maybe.

All that's required is to put the tax rates on the rich back to where they were under Republican President Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower
It's a grossl;y unfair that those who made over $1 billion last year paid a lower tax rate than these teachers.

DillonDee1 1 year ago
@DillonDee1 Obama gave away about 800 billion with the pork pie stimulis pizza. You need to find over 700 more of those hedge fund managers and conviscate every penny they make just to cover Sugar daddy's first couple of months in office.
Pomiferous 1 year ago
@DillonDee1 I'm sorry my math was way off.If it takes 5 super hedge fund managers to make 1 billion. You will have to find more than 3500 more of them and tax them at 100 percent just to pay for the stimulis bill.We are not even going to try and calculate how many it will take to pay for the other accumulated debt and interest.
Pomiferous 1 year ago
@Pomiferous -- your math is way off...it doesn't take 5 Hedge Fund Managers to make $1 billion...as that's only $200 million in a year...I was talking about the big boys & it takes only 1 of them to make $5 billion
And if you put a tax rate on the top 800 like Eisenhower had it'd be many, many times the billions in cuts they are talking about now.
DillonDee1 1 year ago
@DillonDee1 How many of the big boys make 5 billion a year ? All the zeros are getting confusing....Are you suggesting taxing the top 800 incomes with huge increases will produce enough billions to pay off the trillions of debt dollars now owed by the US government.I doubt there are enough billionairs to even make much of a dent,Even if you tax them at 75%.
Pomiferous 1 year ago
@Pomiferous - The US gov't no longer lists those who made the most money. but it looks like a # of Hedge Fund Managers made over $1 Billion & one made over $5 Billion last year (this is more'n the GNP of a # of countries)
Barack has complained that they're only paying 15% tax as many in the middle class pay around 35% as an overall tax rate
Eisenhower had a maximum tax rate of 91% on the super-rich
Yes, if we put Ike's rates back in effect they'll go a long way toward solving our debt
DillonDee1 11 months ago 2
@DillonDee1 Mighty generous of you to let the super wealthy keep 9% of thier income.Since the top ten percent of earners already pay about 90 percent of the income tax revenue. With almost 50 % of americans paying no income tax at all. jirris 1 year ago
First to protect but now they are about POWER!!!
tkcrofamericans 1 year ago
@tkcrofamericans I have to ask -- where do you want your tax dollars going? My further replies will be heavily influenced by your response, so word it carefully :)
jirris 11 months ago
@jirris Also you need to learn where the Union dues are actually going. All these special little rallies that have been happening are sponsored by the CPUSA and the AFL-CIO. I do believe that is Communist Party and the CIO in the beginning before it partnered up with the AFL was a communist party organization. Is that what you want America to become a communist country or the new name now is the Progressive Movement. It is all that need to look into not just history but current day.
tkcrofamericans 1 year ago
@tkcrofamericans oh no! Not.. not c-c-communism! Specters of Cold War Paranoia apparently can't be exorcised so easily. Of course the communist party is assisting with this. Duh. Water is wet. Unions and Communism have always been buddies. Your problem exists in thinking 'All Communism = Stalin" which is just silly. I honestly don't have an issue with Communists. They have a place and that place won't be anywhere near running the country, so calm the heck down.
jirris 11 months ago
@jirris I dont think all Communism = Stalin but I do believe the government is overstepping its authority into our lives. It is my responsibility to take care of myself, my family and my community not the governments. I know in your Union mentality is just like a Communist mentality that everyone is equal deserves the same pay based on seniority not job performance. Well in the real world you get more pay based on job performance and moving up the ladder.
tkcrofamericans 11 months ago
@jirris Teachers are the hot topic today so we will use them. They all want the same pay just based on years of service along with they know once they are tenured it is almost impossible to be fired that is way too much power. This is where Unions go off-track they want to make everyone the same so that hurts the good because they are bunched in with the bad. Also know that alot of the Unions have joined under the AFL-CIO umbrella they are all going to be attacked. Live Together Die Together.
tkcrofamericans 11 months ago

Both bankrupt.
tkcrofamericans 11 months ago
@jirris If it was up to me I would start over by planning a budget just like you do in your house but of course this would be on a big scale. You put things in order of importance and adjust your funds accordingly. Unfortunately it is going to have to start at the bottom in this country because our federal government cant stop spending and lives in a bubble that needs to be popped before they destroy our Country. Actually to be accurate i believe it is called a Socialist movement today.
tkcrofamericans 11 months ago
@tkcrofamericans Good work. You regurgitated multiple sound bites rather than showing independent thinking of any sort. You get an 'F' for not actually understanding half the things you are complaining about. I actually don't have a union protecting me, and many jobs I've had in the past had Emergency Procedures for dealing with the possibility of them.
jirris 11 months ago
@tkcrofamericans However, You actually didn't answer my question. How do you think we should spend tax money? How should we get that tax money? Why?
jirris 11 months ago
@jirris We all should pay the same percentage so it we all pay 10 to 12 percent then the more you make the more you will pay but it will be an equal percentage. No more IRS and the schools should be ran by local governments not the federal. No more medical for illegals or just plain lazy. I am willing to help the helpless not the useless. If you want to have children then you should plan properly to make sure you can afford it. If you signed a home loan and cant afford it now then you lose it.
tkcrofamericans 11 months ago
@jirris we have bailed out so many people that it is hard to keep track you cant keep boosting up people that dont deserve it. How is anyone supposed to learn from there mistakes when we just give them money for nothing. It is both parties that are at fault for wasting all of our tax dollars on big business bailouts also those companies should have been allowed to fail. It may have hurt at first but someone would step in and buy up the companies.
tkcrofamericans 11 months ago

There should be no public sector unions. None.

@eightysevencents i support the protesters, but we dont need communism. unions want better conditions in the capitalist system, not full blown revolution.

Collective bargaining isn't a right. Since when is it called bargaining when you tell you boss what you get paid. These people need to get a job.

@stuntmanroy It is villainous to steal from the working people to give tax cuts to the mega wealthy and corporations.

Where is the solidarity, "Dude"!?
savgal1211 1 year ago
@Madisonmofo It's also devious to give away 700 billion tax payer dollars mostly to union interests and it a stimulis package.

OddRobb 1 year ago
