@Crazytjeuh Thanks for your comment. You can do this effect with moving your head or arm left-right-left-right a bit to achieve alternate blowing of two neighboring holes. I did it in draw holes #4 and #5.
This is very good, but I think its too good. Neither the harmonica or the guitar are sloppy enough to really capture that vintage blues sound. Record this same thing on reel to reel with a few missed notes, and I would go out and buy your album right now.
@a194321 Thanks. :) Since that is just a short improvisation, there are no tabs available. But if you have a C harp, just try to play it by ear, I am sure, you can do it.
@edjoey89 in a harp in C you can play blues in G. If you know the blues escale, the next you should know is how to do bendings to get the sounds that are missing (e.g. F in 2D hole, or Bb in 3D hole). I put an interesting video on my favourites about bending, and there's enough information about that on the web.
@zolkowski i see that you have a Hohner harmonica and it think its made of wood and its perfect to be played with acoustic guitar but i m wondering if its gonna sounds good with an electric guitar
Pięknie. Tylko jednej rzeczy nie kumam. Jest to harmonijka w G czy C (ta na której grasz ten utwór)? Ja wczoraj kupiłem Hohner MS Blues Harp w G. Zaczynam grać na harmonijce a zacząłem z Heart of Gold Neila Younga (dobrze mi idzie :D). Chce jednak grać w taki sam sposób jak tu.
hey.. Im about to get a hohner blues harp!:D I play guitar. If I'd get this one, in C... can I play 12 bar blues only in C or in all key's? How does it work?:D Thank's great stuff
I use the C harp in the key of G or D. These are so called 'cross harp' and 'slant harp' positions, just have a search on google to this keywords, there are many useful sites describing this.
could i ask you how you do those trills at 0:17?
I'm new to the blues harp and looking for advise to start :)
I really like this playing!

ClanChattan14 1 month ago
@ClanChattan14 Of course: for the key of C you should use an F harmonica in cross position.

im hoping to get a harmonica in a week or 2 what type should i get and whats a good price
jalen77232 9 months ago
@jalen77232 I think so, that for a beginner a Hering Free Blues in the key of C is ideal. It is a cheaper model, but rather good to start.
