well a good mechanic could retune the S8's engine (it obv was detuned, but sounds AMAZING). That and the S8 is a fuggin tank. Cut a few hundred pounds and that will be the beast of beasts. Only surpassed by the new Bugatti W12 sedan.

get a new exhaust. Remember, AUDI was cognizant of the fact you have a v10 superengine behind your ear (about 14" away). And look at say, top gear review, it sounds like a hybrid electric! New = exhaust and that fucker will sound like a F-22A Raptor.

As someone who has had an S6 and currently has an R8, I can assure you that both are phenomenal cars. The S6, like the S8, looks sedate but hides a beast of an engine. It's very quick off the line, and no one expects it. The R8 is a different car entirely though. I love the R8, but miss the S6 and will surely get either a new A6 or S6 next year.

Had a wonderful silver S6 for about 18 months. A Phantom Black R8 was at my dealer and available. My wife said OK to the R8, but not to two 400+ HP cars, so I traded in the S6 on the R8, not realizing how much I'd miss the S6. Very different cars, but both are wonderful and I will be picking up another Audi -- most likely the new A6 -- soon.
