Just got a tele deluxe 72' reissue almost identical to the one John is playing here (sunburst and all) and i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it, highly recommend it for funky bluesy stuff, have even played a bit of metal on it (my guilty pleasure) my only complaint is it is a little muddy on the bridge pup till you get it worked out (tonally) , also, it only has 21 frets, but you are limited by your imagination, not the amount of frets (to a certain degree anyway). For under 1g it blew me away.

Both completely different styles but still such incredibly beautifully crafted instrumental texture, some great harmonies, riffs, lyrics and just general flair and performance, watch his live DVD Live at st.Gallen.
