But nope, they're not even on same labels, the record label always disallow bands on other labels to use their labeled songs... Copyright law... So stupid, that's also why some remixing is disallowed.

But I guess you would prefer no one to ever play music that influenced them, which eliminates many famous musicians who covered popular songs that influenced their style (Vaughn covering Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile" for instance which was based on blues band called Muddy Waters). But what do I know...
