Don't pay any attention to the self-important know-it-alls posting here, you CAN save a life.
This video is aimed at the unskilled who would otherwise be worthless during a medical emergency. If you've got the time and interest to be certified, great - go for it. But if you don't, then this video is for you.
This is a great commercial. I agree that hands-only CPR is an excellent alternative for people who do not feel confident enough in their full CPR skills. The #1 reason for people not performing CPR is that they don't feel confident in their skills and think they will kill the person (jayguy is right, the person is already dead).
For CPR Awareness Week, we created a Facebook Application to train people in hands-only CPR. You can find it by searching for "hands only cpr" on Facebook.
Regards to benfires comments on possibly killing the guy if not done properly! Guess what? If he's having a cardiac arrest - he's already dead - keep the heart beating until professional help arrives to bring him alive. Keep the beat baby!!! Fantastic commercial.

tilt their head backwards abit and check their windpipe. then check for breathing and heartbeat. you must also apply breathing if B is not present. if B is present but C is not, run. that would be inhuman!
Pal, this is "the newest real thing"... When someone is not educated on complete CPR, Hands Only CPR is the best alternative for an collapsed adult... This are the latest AHA recomendations for lay rescuers.
well, there is a risk of actually killing the guy if not properly done. but, i guess this is just as good:D and i agree, they SHOULD play this on tv comms.
95 percent of cardiac arrests victims die. There is a 99.99999 percent chance he will die if you do not do CPR while waiting for ambulance. There is a slim chance of killing comeone with CPR.
YOUR WRONG. You check for responsiveness, no response call 911. Then check for breathing, look listen, feel for no less than 5 and no more than 10 secs, then give 2 rescue breaths each lasting 1 second, clearly making the chest rise. Then start CPR with chest compressions at a ratio of 30:2 if you feel unsure you can just give chest compressions
