Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but this sounds like the exact Black Licorice performance used on the "Caught In The Act" double album. Maybe the audio from that album could be substituted and added to this video. Just a thought.
oyeah mel on the bass this guy new the meaning of the word bass. in my book mel rocks the chit out of it and thats the way the bass is played. Peace All
the sound is terrible compared to the released recording but put it together...so cool...yeah, come on now listen to the sick base, you can think Fredde Mercury and Kurt Cobain and that is as close as you can get to the raw insane power and inflection fo the vocals...look up the studio and tell me Im wrong... thanks for the live feed, got a good ear and can hear....right up there with the "greatest" conversation... thanks for sharing
DUDE! This is awesome! The bass master strut, the vocals, Mark's guitar up by his neck and the energy he had, EVERYTHING... Bad fucking video!! LOVE IT!! L.O.V.E.!! Good days for me and awesome memories!!
yeah this a a great gfr track i remember when they came out and all the critics hated em! but they were a good singin good playin american band! long live gfr they put out some classic shit
Creem ("America's Only Rock & Roll Magazine" they touted on their cover) once put out a Heavy Metal special, and writer Jeffrey Morgan did a piece on Grand Funk. Anyway, it seemed he preferred the trio era, but gosh, GFR are just a bad ass band here. It's too band that their history has not recieved the attention Led Zep has, with the DVD era.
FN HEAVY TUNE! Mark's aluminum guitar is quite bad ass although I love the Gibson on the '75 World Tour. Mel, love the bass, Craig, keys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god not seen this before. Great heavy track. I still do not know the exact history of this (?) Japanese laserdisc...I know Lynn Goldsmith shot this, but how did a (?) bootleg get out? It's supposedly one of the reasons the band hasn't officially released it. FN great, tho!
I was 15yrs. old when this came out...still get psyched when I hear it today!! High Energy -Kick ass Rock. Thanks for posting it. ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME FOR SURE BABY!!!!!!!
Yes..40 great years of Grand Funk. I sure wish these guys would have stayed together for that whole time. Was impressed with Craig on the keys. Grand Funk was the best!!
this song is THE SHIT ! Craig Frost is so underrated it's sick.

I feel dumb. I thought it was Mark singing until i saw this video.

@Polystant I almost positive that Mark does the chorus on the American Band LP. I like how Don does it, however.
