Take II. You guys are hip, have you heard Daniel Johnston's songs. Especially the ones he did as a crazy kid (bipolar; hospitalized when he hit with "Speeding .Motorcycle"). Some of his stuff is ( I think) brilliant. Other not so great but always with a flash of something special. I think his guitar skills are perfect for his lyrics and voice. Everything matches together and shows an explosion of feeling. Hes singing from the heart. You don't need to sound perfect to make mind blowing music, take Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin for example. They both have voices that can sound a little harsh sometimes, but it creates very intense and powerful music. A lot of music now is all auto tuned and doesn't have a single mistake, it's just meaningless words. Music is a form of art.

I've just descovered Daniel Johnston. Honestly, I'm from the deep South so Merle Haggard is a legand to me. But I'm a visual artist. My parents knew by the time I was 4 that I had a talent. What interists me is, I too have been diagnosed bipolar or major depressive disorder. I've had 2 mental breakdowns and I have noone I can relate to but I really understand Daniel and would love to just talk to him.
