Peter Jackson is splitting the book into 2 separate films! due out in 2012 and 2013 respectively. I have been waiting and following this development for years, I'm so excited about it, So will i see you at the Premier?

wow i always wanted to read the book and finally did and finaly finished it last week and this week i hear there is a movie in production. freaken awsome i feel like its being made just for me. the fist i watched the cartoon was in 2000 and then the first lord of the rings came out the next year. wow i got good timeing. feels a little unreal.

the hobbit movie is actually being made, i saw it a magazine cover, it stars martin freeman (arthur dent from htichhikers guide to the galaxy) as bilbo.

Books actually good, you have to think about this tho, the book is given a bad rep from school. Plus it has a ton of waiting before fighting, and the LOTR movies are more fighting and less real story, miss alot if you dont read.

It's been announced in the LA TIMES!!!! Peter Jackson WILL be remaking The Hobbit! Release date will be 2011 and he'll split the book in two films! AWESOME!!!!!!

I hear that Orlando Bloom will appear as Legolas in a cameo (probably during the Thranduil scenes in the background; he is Thranduil's son, after all.)

My choice to play Thranduil would be David Bowie. I heard he wanted to play Elrond but they chose Weaving instead. He resembles Bloom's character in coloring and facial structure, and he's had experience playing vaguely menacing elvish types before (see him in Labryinth as the Goblin King).
