It must be really hard when it rains there. All those dirt roads must get flooded with mud. But of course I don't really know how often it rains or floods there.
whats with showing nigeria as a dump could they not have used more developed areas. At least they represented us speaking like human beings it could have been worse.
The King of Nigeria (God bless his soul) sent me an email last week. He`ll send me 18 millions of big bucks in exchange of aaaaallllllllllll my personnel informations.I`havn`t received my check yet but I`ll probably get it tomorrow.I`LL BE RICH LIKE HELL BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks King of Nigeria!!!Sending some big cash to some total unknowns is the perfect way fixing all problems of ur country!
If she earns 20000naira a day ,why are there so many poor nigerians.A driver at a bank in nigeria earns 15000 naira a MONTH.All these i see is top liesssssss.
Because some nigerians are lazy and because getting loans are not easy. Is this not better than foreign aid that has left africa as a waste ground of the planet.
These are the ladies that have suceeded so they are interviewing them. Just like the rest of the world some people suceed and some people dont, its that easy.
I donot have an ounce of trust for the World Bank and IMF.They are two imperialist tools the developing world must avoid. They are only interested on how to make the world dependent on the west.
All of the backgrounds in this video portray Nigeria as a vast wasteland with dirt roads, dilapidated buildings, slums, and lots of trash lying around. I thought Nigeria had lots of oil. Why don't they use their oil wealth to improve their country, like Kuwait, Abu Dabai, and Saudi Arabia did? Is the legacy of slavery holding them back?
Your 'banking info' comment is just like missing the point because this is a tremendous infrastructural advancement in places that have hitherto lacked technology in rural Africa. Nigeria is a country with enormous business options and opportunities for foreign investment.People who have lost money through non-existent money transfers, are without questions, enemies of the state of Nigeria.
enemies of the state? they are the cornerstone of the nigerian economy how much money must a nigerian scam before he is given a title like "chief"?..i know this happens and its not only socially acceptable to scam its a skill thats admired
if the Nigerian economy wasn't automatically blocked by all those foreign companies who suck all the money out of Nigeria and indeed all of Africa; Oil, Cocoa...the list goes on...then corruption would clearly be much less, because Africans would own their own continent, which would obviously emerge as the Superpower it truly is......so then, you wouldn't get your scammer emails...ok?
The reason why Naija will still suffer is because we are toooooooo proud. Someone said nigeria has the highest no. of doctorates per capita in the whole world(so what?). Lets show some humility. It is not yet perfect but let us give constructive critics. I was in SA and saw how humble the people are.
MTN and IFC should actually do more in the society, my family is in Nigeria and the airtime is so expensive. It is the least they can do they make millions and millions of dollars in Nigeria. The least they can do is help the community.

Even when you purchase the cards, say 1000 naira (currency) and you activate it, some of the time you don't even have 1000naira worth of minutes in there and in some cases, there are no minutes at all.
It is not an MTN initiative by the way it is women in the society who are using their cell phones to do this.
MTN should not have to broadcast that they are doing this. Don't get me wrong, it is a good initiative but it is the least that they can do. I say this because as a Nigerian who has used MTN's services (which are very overpriced) you have to buy cards to use your cell phone, you do not have free nights and/or weekends, it is nothing like they make it seem.
Lies, lies, lies! It hurts to see actors come out on screen and talk a whole lot of crap. How can anyone say that in Nigeria, Igboland, that they would abandon hair salon work and start fone booth work.False! That doesnt happen. As if that lie isnt enough, she goes on to say she makes 10grand daily from calls! That implies an average of 300grand monthly. if that were the case,y r folks still doin white collar jobs.10gs naira daily-No na 20,000 dollars. crazy people.

Great vision! may be the rural villages will become towns, and eventually cities due to the advent of information and the information age. Information is Power!
