back in the day most corps had a feeder group to get younger kids primed to be in the main group. It was common practice to have "cadet" in the name, in reference to military cadets (trainees to become officers). The Cavaliers, for example, had The Cavalier Cadets.

santa clara vanguard cadets = open class feeder corps for the vanguard
cadets = completely different world class corps from allentown, pennsylvania
