I heard it the first time on that "Doo Wop Classics Earth Angel" CD...but later on I found the Federal reissue of "19 Hits," and I was impressed by the number of uptempo jumpers they did in the early years...thanks for sharing this one
A amazing song i am a hard core tamla motown/northern soul fan but me mum brought me up on Rock and roll and the harmonys wit Do wops in the early 60s and when i first heard this me hairs on back tingles and now its on you tube brilliant WOW
When they signed with Buck Ram they started as an jump tune group. After "Only You" hit the charts, Buck chose to take them in a different direction. Buck chose their songs, wrote most of hits, produced all of their records. By the '70s the people on stage and the the people on stage weren't always the same because The Platters were (almost) as much about entertaining as they were about the music. Check out the The Platters Anniversary video.
this is the only video of this song on youtube. i have never heard this kind of uptempo song by the tony williams platters, only with the sonny turner platters, as with "With This Ring", another great upbeat platters song. i consider them two different bands though, 'cause their musical styles were so different.
Probably the Platters best uptempo record on Federal, on Mercury you've got to listen to "Bark Battle and Ball", its jsut too much.

Ed, may be "Out of My Mind", the A Side of the single with "Twilight Time".
A song without interest.

Yes, its a real change from their other ballads. I have a liking for uptempo doo wop songs and, to my knowledge, no-one has posted this before.
